  1. Over hyped from the start on Buy a Segway... Please · · Score: 1

I remember when word first started out about "it", and "it" was it's name.
Anything that was so revolutionary, would need to be hype and clouded in so much mystry.

I knew from the start, all the hype was to try and get people interested as to want to buy it.

Anything that has to be first over hyped to sell is doomed.

I few friends said they thought it was ok, not as bad as expected. But they also like MST2K, not much for taste there.

I seen the previews for it and the plot it just did not jump out at me. Though my wife also wanted to see it... not going to complain about her taste, she married me so.

I think it has been a problem with a lot of sci-fi today thin plots.
Makes me think the TV exec's think we are all mind numb robots who only care about sex and violence. Not that I don't like a little of both, I have to get in my Quake time in every so often and blow things up and the wife takes care of the other.

Next is Road Runner about the same deal but 44.95 a month after the first three months at 19.95

Both cable services have no catchs to the rate pricing.

Our local Tellco Bell South DSL, runs 49.95, unless you signup to extra features on your phone line then it is 45.95.
They have a installation charge of $99 or $35 if you do it your self, activation charge of 50.00
and Modem free after rebate(mail in) and first three months at 19.95.

Earth Link also offers DSL in our area, same deal as with cable free installation and modem.
but only $49.00 and three months at 21.95

Easy to see why cable is taking off so fast, compitition and cost.

The average person with a knife would be limited kill, but a person trained in knife combat could kill more then average person with a gun.
Being that he is up against a group of everyday people. Look at the people who took over the air planes with box cutters.

Now an average person with just there hands will not be able kill more then one person, but take a person trained combat. They can kill with one good hit. I have see one guy take down five untrained people in a fight with his bare hands and feet.

Even with the TNG movies, Generations was maybe the best. I think from the trailer, that I watched before Harry Potter 2. I need not watch the movie, since the plot and everything we given it.

The only really cool space shows of late have been Babylon 5, Farscape, first season the Andromeda, Lex (though it is just a bit weird) reminds me of some of the old British sci-fi shows.

I do not know why TV executives think shows need to be dumb down, but to me it is killing sci-fi not helping it and nether does being over PC help.....

Superman see Batman as another super hero good guy, thinks he could use a hug.

Batman on the other hand looks at Superman as competition, and would look for weak spots to exploit for his own personal gain. Of course he would know all about Kryptonite and the means to get it.
