That's perfect. I have a project coming up for a class on 20th Century American Rock and Pop music (Music 109 at the University of Arizona) which is required to be submitted on Turnitin.com. It's a song analysis. I could very easily put large chunks, possibly the entire lyrics of the song into my analysis; I'd like to see what Turnitin.com claims on that. I wonder if I'll get accused of "plagiarism" for copying the song lyrics of the song that I'm analyzing. I think it would be really obvious to the teacher that I wouldn't actually be plagiarizing... but I'm not sure I'd accomplish much else.
Cool, thanks, I'll check my drivers... that makes me optimistic, though. Unfortunately I can't use the Omega drivers, because I run Mac OS X (yes, I neglected to mention that my laptop is an iBook G4). If new drivers don't fix it, I'm going to assume that it's probably a performance difference between the Windows and Mac OS X versions of the Second Life client.
Second that. I can't run Second Life on my laptop at all... I get maybe 6 fps on all the lowest possible settings. Compare that to 20-25 fps on World of Warcraft at not even the lowest settings. That's with a Radeon 9200 Mobile. Which game would you guess is more graphically demanding? I'm really not sure, but WoW sure as hell looks a lot better.
Some radio stations will happily play that sort of material and will never bow to the RIAA. There's a new revolution coming. People everywhere are getting pretty sick of the RIAA telling us how much music should cost and who should be paying. It's time for a change in leadership (or just complete anarchy). Let the free market rule, and get rid of the outdated cartel.
My friend and I are just starting a new website to pool together new DRM-free music. It's devoted entirely to independent bands and their fans. It's called indiradio. We're looking for artists who are committed to creating good music and potentially making money at the same time without resorting to screwing over their fans. We're looking for fans who realize that the music industry has just gone too far. We're here to help.
Be part of an exciting new community willing to tell the recording industry to SHOVE IT. We don't need the old infrastructure. Bands are recording themselves these days, and fans won't tolerate being told when and where they can play their music. Like another comment said, you may not be able to "easily find downloads" on Pandora, but on a community-focused and fan-oriented site like ours, you sure can. Expect only DRM-free 128-kbit MP3 streams and downloads, with the ability (soon) to purchase full-quality CDs with the money actually going to the artists. Don't settle for less.
This new agreement doesn't mean you get RealPlayer when you download Firefox!! Worry not! It just means that when you download RealPlayer, you also get Firefox.
Let me illustrate. I go to download Firefox. I used to just get Firefox. I still just get Firefox. I go to download RealPlayer. I used to just get RealPlayer, and 50 pieces of spyware. I now get RealPlayer, 50 pieces of spyware, Google Toolbar, and Firefox.
We're not ashamed of who we are. Technology has finally allowed us, as a generation, to "come out"... it's now ok to speak up about who you are as a person.
Sure, a few corporate HR departments are going to reject your resume because you write depressing poetry on Livejournal. The companies that hire you are going to benefit from having an employee who doesn't repress what we all do.
1) Who in the hell uses their pinky to click the right mouse button on a regular mouse? I use my middle finger. Middle-click for me is index + middle finger (when I don't have a middle button, and I'm using ChordMiddle in X).
2) How would a touchpad -or- touchscreen have any clue which finger you're touching it with!? I find that idea disturbing. All it knows is that you're touching it, with a certain amount of pressure, at a certain point. Is that enough data to decide which finger you're using?
It's my understanding (correct me if I'm wrong) that characters can marry in this game. Marriage is the joining of two individuals in a romantic relationship, right? Does that not imply sexual orientation?
The.org at the end is already justified, for legal reasons:
The project and software are informally referred to as "OpenOffice", but project organizers report that this term is a trademark held by another party, requiring them to adopt "OpenOffice.org" as its formal name, and abbreviated as OOo.
And I have no idea what Heinlein is supposed to have to do with it. I've only read one or two of his books and have been meaning to get around to a few more one of these days.

Check it out at http://www.myindiradio.com/
unfortunately, yes.
Don't forget linear algebra. A proper understanding of matrices is quite essential.
Yeah, that's why it's called a release candidate. It's a "candidate" for "release". It seems that this candidate actually got released.
I know, Microsoft's been confusing everyone by calling betas "release candidates", but the term actually refers to a build that might get released.
Stop modding this "Insightful", people. It's not that kind of Keynote.
Neither would Ted Kaczynski.

Did anyone else read the article?
yeah, we usually call those "Dupes".
Can I invoke Godwin's Law yet?
Thank you! That's exactly what I was trying to say, but I didn't have the words.
If I was doing the hiring, that's what my line of thinking would be.
I think you're the one that doesn't get it.

wish i had modpoints, buddy. that was excellent.
Surely you mean Jack Thompson, not Jack Johnson.

Of -course- all your fancywork becomes goto statements.
I have two instructions for you:
jump.
jump and link.
Assembly code consists of a bunch of math followed by a bunch of jumping to another memory location. Rinse and repeat.
