Although sunlight and some of the other methods here sound more interesting, I would just like to add that I've used lcd screen wipes on my macbook pro shell-casing to no ill-effect. They smell like they have alcohol in them, I would imagine that any form of alcohol would be able to kill at least bacteria.
I would disagree given that 15 bucks a month is cheap compared to even a split cable or cell-phone bill. Even if you play WoW for just four hours a week (which is pretty easy to do =)) you're spending 15 bucks a month for 20 hours of 'entertainment'. (All jokes aside as to whether one should be entertained spending most of their time walking from place to place and repeating the same moves on the same monsters endlessly.) That price makes WoW cheaper than just about anything short of kicking a soccer ball around, including watching tv, and renting movies. The only thing I could think of that'd be cheaper is renting a good game for 4 bucks and marathon playing it for 20-100 hours (which is often done)..
In my particular case, I also had a subscription to DDO and RFO for about 3-4 months and I almost never played them. (Literally, I paid and didn't play for so long I forgot I was still paying for it, as well as my password.) Instead I played Guild Wars (which is free) all the time; it was simply a better game (IMHO).
my wife is an immigrant, half of my family are immigrants; they're people just like you and me. Tagging them like an animal is inhuman, regardless of the practical outcome there are things we simply do not do in a civilized society; we don't kill our elderly after they're no longer useful, we don't put children our children to work, instead we put them into free schools.
Any one with half a brain and half a reason would just have the thing removed anyway. All this will do is treat regular people with indignity; the criminals will work around it.
who the heck would spend hours playing on a tiny screen with a cramped up keyboard? A nice idea, an MMO you could play anywhere, but the reality is unless the play intervals are 5-15 min the best place to play will be at home...
I mean, it's nice to know but I tend to go by the adjust until satisfied method. I mean, would you let a good cup of coffee go to waste just cause it only has half the caffeine? Of course not! You drink it and go get another! =)
but we shouldn't forget the developers he leads probably all deserve to be in there as well, plus all the guys who were in initial development who left to go make Guild Wars. It would've been nicer to have the WoW team in there.
In the end, it's in your best interests at this point to go with whatever will protect your stake in the company and make it fruitful. I would be somewhat wary of him getting the CEO title, if I was inclined towards having strong opinions - just because it would be likely he'd make a decision I wouldn't like and my only recourse would be to go through the board (time consuming and indirect at best).
It kinda sounds like both of you are in it for the title though, and that's something to be wary about. I think you should really be more focused on who's best willing to handle the responsibilities.
On the other hand, if it's really you that's done the lion's share of the work, and your friend has just been there largely for moral support, then it's lame for him to get CEO because he basically did nothing.
I deleted my 60 late last year and cancelled my account. I lasted about 8 hours before i sent blizzard an email to try and dig my character up. I was playing again in 24 hours. No lie =)
In all honesty what got me to finally quit was MC. It was long, boring (I used to sit and play guitar, pausing only to spam frostbolts or sheep when needed), and most of the time I didn't get anything. When the raid guilds started to come up with more byzantine and draconian loot rules i just decided enough was enough.
I used to think the sole purpose of playing was to get to 60 and see the end. Now I realize the instances and quests getting to 60 were a lot more fun than what's left for us at 60. (Well it's not true, I mean, Strat and Scholo are fun the first what, dozen times you five-man them?)
I was kinda suprised by the reviewer, although I respect his views. I don't want to counter his review, but would just like to chime in that I think DDO's pretty cool. I especially like the fact you get experience only for completing missions. In some cases I've heard you get bonus points for _not_ killing anything in the course of achieving your goal. Some may disagree, but I think it's a wonderful change from people going out and randomly bashing monster brains in for the sake of levelling. I actually focus more on the atmosphere and the grouping than I did with WoW. The dungeons are in many cases a lot more interesting than WoW quests. I enjoy the fact that rogues actually have traps to disarm, secret doors to sense, etc. The fact that there are puzzles in the dungeons to solve is also a welcome change.
Umm, carnal desires are more sexual than physically violent. Unless you're explicitly referring to all the T&A in videogames or how violently you spank the monkey, animal or basic or just plain violent desires might be a better choice.
there's being ambitious and then there's just being delusional. I think they better dig themselves out of the hole they're in before they talk about climbing WoW's mountain of customers.
I've heard some sites mention that spellbreaker would be added as a new class, and am surprised more people aren't discussing the ramifications of that. I'm one to believe that spellbreaker might be included, just because it seems apparent blood elves are a new race and it would fit with warcraft lore. Not that you can play a sentinel either, but hey I'm just saying it's possible. =)
In general a melee class that's immune to and can redirect magical effects for their own benefit is a nice new monkeywrench to all casters. Being a mage i can't wait to play an anti-mage melee guy =) That's actually far more disruptive than creating a new race which can implement all the same classes. who cares?
i wonder if the pigment degrades in time after being hit by a laser or the air or what... if it degrades immediately, can you rewind what you just read?
WoW is a game that appeals to a lot of people who would not otherwise play computer games regularly, myself included. It gets people in the habit of gaming and interested in what else the gaming world might have to offer. Since I started playing WoW I've bought three other MMOs and one other computer role-playing game. In the end I still prefer to play WoW, but that is because it's a better game than City of Heroes or EQ2 (for me at least).
Any game that demonstrates the ability to draw people outside of the traditional gaming industry will inspire investors to start making games to interest those new groups.
Ultimately, the reason I don't play many other games is because they don't tend to hold my interest - that's the fault of the game designer, not WoW. Show me another game that can hold my interest with the broad choices of things to do, great graphics and music, and interaction with a large number of other players, and I'll go play that game too. (But I'd prefer that you wouldn't - my wife is peeved enough at me as it is =P)
I agree, and perhaps this is this is the price we pay for having children which are generally brighter, more sophisticated, etc. As a 30-something I try to cut the teenagers and 20-somethings a little more slack as I realize that I still had it much easier than those who lived through the second world war. When I listen to the older crowd, and read about those times, and shortly after and hear why people chose to found things like the United Nations, etc. I get the feeling these people knew something we will never know. Even though I was for the Iraq invasion I find myself questioning my desire for the US to be more proactive and perhaps we as the subsequent generations have done much to forget what we learned in the past. We say these kids are too soft, and yet do we deserve the peace and prosperity that the previous generations have suffered for?
Sure I agree, they got to grow up - but on the other hand, they have a point. We understand the reality of the work-world, and yet most of us aspire to live in a world where people are judged by the content of their character. If they believe they should be accepted as they are, then who are we to say they shouldn't be? A tattoo or green hair certainly doesn't detract from a person's performance any more than my jeans and polo does.
Has anyone ever tried to string 78 usb drives (presumably with active lights) into a christmas tree light to decorate with? Might be interesting...

'Players never face moral quandaries and never get to choose between an upstanding act and an evil one.'
Obviously this person has never been ninja'ed out of loot, had a priest suddenly drop out mid-instance, or had a gold-farmer train him. =P

that's like double all the people still playing star wars galaxies =)

At least we can go out and buy tons of chocolate cake and eat it now =)
maybe people will finally stop using it.
something is wrong with you if you're that concerned about DDR not being in an arcade. =P
he must need it to record all the CSI shows coming out.
and if I sell it within 2 years, do I have to pay 20% extra in capitol gains tax?

That's enough time to level every class to 60, for both factions! Like, on every server too! I'd be a god! muhahah!
