Ewww.... One good reason not to buy this: I hate electronics that tell me "Hello" and "Goodbye". Creeps me the f*ck out.
It's like some demented engineer had a skewed vision of what "user friendly" means.
I suppose another good reason would be that I already have a gamecube and a DVD-player. And sometimes it's nice to run the two of those at the same time just because I can.
I saw a similar system once, where users were required to to choose a series of faces. I'm wondering what the degree of success for remembering a password like that would be... I'd think it'd be even higher, since it's easier to remember faces than abstract patterns.
No way, man! First of all the gameplay system is amazing! There's a totally new, revamped magic system in which your magic meter tells you the same information but in a different way. Oh, and magic isn't called magic in this one, it's called mana, or moglee or mechlo, or something like that. Anyway, it's TOTALLY different from magic. And the fighting system? It's been completely revamped with new camera angles and magic animations that are over 1/2 an hour long!
And wait until you hear the plot! It's totally mindblowing!!!! Supposedly, it involves an evil boss who wants to control the world, and you have to stop him. (the big secret is that evil boss 1 is actually being controlled by a bigger and MORE EVIL evil boss 2!!!) Who knows... I've even heard rumors that there's a REALLY BIG, REAAAALLY EVIL evil boss 3 controlling them all, who wants to destroy the world!
And supposedly, there's a great back-story about your character where you learn that about the mysterious background of your character!!! And I thought he was just a simple cyber-hyper-techno ball player!! Who would've known!!
Having multiple satellites, however, means that the service should theoretically be available at all times.
Since they have 3 satellites operating on 16 hour orbits, they should be able to have 2 satellites available at every time (assuming they arranged them correctly).
Just have satellite 1 cover midnight-4PM, satellite 2 cover 8AM-midnight, and satellite three cover 4PM-8AM the next day.
I hate to use business-speak, but these people really need to learn to think outside the box.
Why not:
- carry the signals of existing radio stations via satellite, and charge the radio stations to carry their signal.
- carry small college radio stations (I'd be willing to pay for that)
- use some sort of ID3-type tagging to show information about the song, artist, etc. Not knowing who did a great song I just heard is one of my top 10 pet peeves with radio. And don't get me started on that stupid Sony gadget.
Until then, I'll listen to regular FM during my morning commute. (Of course, I'm in DC, so I have a fairly good selection of radio stations already.)
Deep sea detritus, a.k.a. "marine snow", a.k.a., little bity parts of small dead things, fall at a relatively constant rate on the marine floor. Thus, discovering the approximate age of the city could be as simple as
(amount of detritus covering) / (rate of detritus fall)
The 6000, I'm sure, is a complete guess given the current amount of available data, but I'm relatively confident of sedimentologists ability to estimate ages. Those dirt geologists rock.
Of course, since they didn't define IN ANY WAY what a "success" was (sales? popularity? graphics? games? staying power?), we have no way of knowing why some systems got bolded and some didn't.
I alse found it REALLY funny that the TurboGrafx 16 got a bold! What is this being measured in, pure profits?? I could see the TG-16 being profitable, since the games looked really cheap to manufacture, but successful??!? Come on. I think I know of one other person (other than myself) who owned that system.
Even Genesis should be on the list of successes before TG-16
Paper Mario is a GREAT game, and given that everyone is trying to get rid of their N64 stock, you should be able to pick up this game new / slightly loved for ~$20.
Check out your local blockbuster, or hollywood video for some great used N64 games. Last weekend I got Indiana Jones for $10. (Which is about what it's worth)
Yeah, the LCD is definitely not real, but how many pictures of real, working products (such as Palm Pilots, televisions, monitors) have you seen with real pictures on them?
Just because what's shown on the screen in a picture isn't real, it doesn't mean the product is a complete mock-up
Geez, you'd think none of our fellow slashdotters had heard of Limewire...
When you have quicktime pro, you can download and save the largest version, and share it online. So if you really want the largest version, and really don't want to give apple $30 measly bucks for a great program, just wait... the mystery trailer was on limewire within a day of it's release.
Ummmm.... you probably didn't need the trailer to figure out that this movie is going to have clones in it. After all, the name (Released months ago) IS "Attack of the Clones".
Plus, the carbon-14 ratio is pretty much shot these days, thanks to decades of nuclear testing.
You might be surprised, as well, by how exact a science anthropology can be. In many cases, written works up to 1500 years old have been more accurately dated, and with a smaller range of uncertainty, through handwriting analysis.
What do you expect?? The article was posted roughly an hour after everything happened! I'm having a hard time typing, myself, and I'm CERTIANLY not worrying about grammar.
I'm going to see Episode II for Natalie only. I know I won't be let down in that respect. Then, if the movie doesn't suck, I'll be pleasantly surprised!

(sorry if I've given away too much of the plot!)
If you wanted an unbiased site, go elsewhere! For god's sake, the MS news has Bill dressed up in a Borg outfit!
The code for sonic was a simple UP-DOWN-LEFT-RIGHT, then A. You had to time it right, though, and do it right as sonic popped up

Nintendo has also shown plans for a broadband connection since the gamecube was first shown.
I think they've even set a release date for the broadband connector.
Nonetheless, the article listed N/A for the Gamecube's broadband capability. Again, sketchy research at best

Wouldn't this:
- Interfaces to every type of gaming console in existence
cover this?

Not to by nit-picky, but someone should point out that $166,000 a year IS only $3,197 / week.

But I think the real question is: Are the representatives at least reading some small sample of our e-mails??
I guess I'd mainly be interesting in knowing if anyone got a real response, or if we are in fact being completely ignored.
Still doesn't explain the "in connection with sites that disparage MS..." clause.
No one's going to go to court and say, "Hey, this site breeds hatred against Microsoft! That's immoral!", except of course Microsoft itself.
You have obviously never heard of Gandhi and fight for the independence of S. Asia.

It seems to me that the adventure gaming genre pretty much died when 320x240 went out of style.
Once King's Quest 8 went to 640x480 hi-color, that series went downhill, with Space Quest coming soon after.
For anyone looking to return to the low-res days, though, do some searching for abandonware. A great place to start is The Gaming Depot.
No love for the first-person adventure games?
There were some major titles in that section too from Dynamix:
-Rise Of the Dragon
-Heart of China
Not to mention some incredible sports games in the "Front Page Sports" series.
is still hot as HELL.
I'm going to see Episode II for Natalie only. I know I won't be let down in that respect. Then, if the movie doesn't suck, I'll be pleasantly surprised!
