The simple fact of the matter is that if SCO thought that they were in the "right" they would be attacking the upper tiers of the Fortune 500 and larger companies. They tried that with IBM and got their fingers bitten. This little press release is nothing more than an admission of their downfall.

What you dont mention are all of the Janes combat simms. Origin alaso produced code for a few other online worlds that never were published because EA didn't want to risk competitinon with Mr. Lucas. Origin had alot of good coders and some wonderful ideas...they were just handeled badly by EA.

The theory was tested by some scientists near the antarctic and while it worked a little the cost of actually doing it is prohibitive. This does not take into account the affect creating billions more of the wee beasites would have on the marine life cycly. Hell the person who first discovered the photopankton advised against this method of using them because of the way negative effects it could have (like feeding alge growth that kills fish). Check out the latest issues of Discover and Scientific Amerian for the lowdown.

There is no acceptable amount of work related misery in the IT field. Misery generaly stems from the inept rulings of management, the users who can't seem to RTFM, and the products we support and/or make. Most of this misery could be avoided if people would just get a clue and do their jobs instead of attempting to pass the buck.

If the tech can create the race you've obviously not under any constraints imposed by current genetic troubles (inbreeding and such). In fact you could take it a step further and make the males look the same and the females look alike as well (if you really want to dip in to sci-fi just clone tru hermaphrodites ) . This eliminates some of the social troubles caused by physical variations. This was the Arian dream to some extent but, science has a better aproach.
