Talking about a filesystem that you never used, as a user/developper/hacker, and criticizing it's features 2 years before it is out, for me is not a solid argument.
the main danger of that kind of job, is you'll end up being bored of it, a few months after you start. It's very repetitive, and probably not as creative as you believe it is.
It's more an ignorance powered decision than a hacking punishment. And as long as 13 years old kids will be more IT-aware than their teachers, it is gonna happen everyday.
Wow, man I think my geek-o-meter just melt while I was reading this post. And I had to shut down my weird-o-meter to prevent it from melting as well.
Well, I like IM, I use it every day with. But when I'm a few meters away from the person I'm chatting with, I discovered that opening my mouth to talk was much better. You should do the same, and you'll see that real-life communication with people (especially family) is a nice thing.
Your post reminded me of an article I read a few weeks ago (probably posted on/.), where a distributed spamming technique was exposed. The method was exploiting a php weakness (register_globals), to upload and run a script that installs a binary file in/tmp it's purpose being to send spam from several (hard to evaluate how many servers could be infected by that kind of weakness) web servers.
Sorry but what's the point of having near-DVD quality trailers, months after the realease of the entire movies ? (2 DVDs are available and the 3rd should soon be)
You must be the kind of guy that can't wait anymore for the Fellowship of the ring trailer to be out:)
I have to admit that posting your boss' website on the slashdot homepage is an easy revenge for whatever he did to you...You must be LOL, seeing his webserver melting down:)
1- Dual Boot (WinXp for you + Win98SE for your kids) 2- A ghost image of the win98SE partition 3- Let them play 4- Wait for them to say "Dad it doesn't work anymore !" 5- Restore your ghost backup 6- Goto 3
Seems a bit dub, but it works better and it's less a pain than managing XP user rights.
Powerpoint will not make you dumb. It's like saying "hammer will break your finger".
People have to be dumb in the first place, to forget a life-threat, when it's showed using a media, whatever this media is : Newspapers, Radio, TV, or PowerPoint.
There are not many Open Source developpers that actively take part to a project for more than a few patches, or at most, a few months.
That's in my opinion the major leak of OSS. Many good project never reach a stable status, because of coders departures, and because of project forks.
It would somtimes be good to get some experience from company-like organisations, where a project often MUST be finished, for the company to keep some credibilityn or often to survive.
No it doesn't ! Everybody knows how to hack your girlfriend...she nearly has her own man-page :)
"How are System Requirements Determined?"

Mostly on drugs
"Am I being paranoid ?"

So IMHO you are paranoid...well, for the moment

In fact, it's "The Billion-Euros Telescope" which means about 20% more.

It's a good thing these guys aren't on the real IE dev team.
:)
How can you be so sure they are not ?
"running at 14 meters per minute"
You probably mean "crawling" ?
when it comes to kids playing games, win98SE (SE stands for Second Edition, being more stable) is far enough stable...

3- Let them play
4- Wait for them to say "Dad it doesn't work anymore !"

PowerPoint is a tool. Period.
Didn't EA buy a few (about 7 I believe) LOTR licenses for games ?
"Real men don't do backups...But you know, real men sometimes cry" :):):)
job posts are sometimes funnier. I recently read a "C# developper wanted, with minimum 4 years experience" offer :)
Well, I don't have time to talk with your wife...we have many things to do before you get back home :)
You should try this one, I tried it with my girlfriend, and since the day we started, we never stopped loving it !

(just a tip : it's called "real life"
Are you sure they paid someone to translate pages ? The french translation must have been made by some guy who had never talked french before :)
