Even if it seems to be a matter of last 5 years, products placement in games as been here for a while : remember Zool ? Well in this game, the brand Ch*ppa Ch*ps was strongly present.

this guy, asa is the kind of guy that will soon get thousands spam...is it really a good idea to write a news submitter's email address on/. homepage, without any *anti spam trick* ?
Ok, he will probably get a bigger cock and a good mortgage, but anyway...hmmm...forget it:)
There are several foundries available (3D, BASIC, Clustering, Databases, Distributed Computing, Español, Gaming, GNOME, Java, Linux Drivers, Linux Kernel, Linux on Large Systems, Perl, PHP, Python, Russian, Storage, Tcl, Vector Graphics).
Every week I see a new php book, about "profesionnal php", "php and mysql", "web apps with php"...but I'm not really sure that developpers need to buy books to learn php. I see no feature of this language, that need to be explained in a whole book.
ALL is in the online documentation, which is pretty good. More : php5 will soon be here...with that time, many new features (better OOP ie).
Ok, leave me alone now ! I need to concentrate, as I'm writting a "learning php5" book:)
Try to imagine the most unbelievable service that could be sold on the internet. Then, when time has come (say november 1998), meet every Investor you can, and sell them shares for your idea. When done, buy a BMW Z3, a $3M villa, and as many dot com shares that you can afford, that you will sell a few weeks later, 4 times their value. When you're done...rest:)
...aren't slashdot writers/readers/comments posters acting just the same way, when they write dayly articles and comments, flaming microsoft software ?
even if nobody pays for ad-campains telling that 'windows costs money', it's written everywhere on OSDN'ish sites.
accept being flamed, men...because I think it's only the beginning.
Here in hhe company I work for, we often use GetText to manage internationnalisation. You will find more informations on the GNU GetText Documentation.
GetText works with C/C++, but also PHP, and I think (but I have no proof, so if anyone can confirm this ?) that it also works with PERL.
You should have a look to Total Recorder. It's an app for Windows, that hooks the system audio stream. The good thing to know is that it can dump the sound it hooks to the disc. Better, it can convert sound to misc formats (including MP3, WMA and OGG) on-the-fly, using the CODEC you chose.
So you just have to connect your turntable to the Line In port, then launch the windows media tool and Total Recorder. I bet you will save a lot of time converting on-the-fly !
I did this a few times, and it worked perfectly, in no time:)
Adobe is known for optimizing their products for INTEL Pentium, P2, P3, P4 CPU instructions (such as MMX/SSE I think). AMD CPU is a bad idea, as Photoshop will run slower.
I was told a few weeks ago that AMD fans published some patches to fix performances issues under adobe products such as Photoshop and Premiere, but i didn't check or test that.
Exactly the same in France, because of a EU decision to sell 3G licences for really big amounts.
And the worst is that most people in France still have an *old* mobile phone, as mobiles prices are quite expensive, as long as you don't wanna change your subscription (and by the way your phone number).
IMHO, people in the US will see videos on their mobiles, before people in France switched to 2G mobiles:(
I can't wait to know what word they invented for "spam"...well we soon should know :)
I would say "start searching for another job" :(

I asked myself the same question a few weeks ago. So I asked Google about my favorite oldies and their hypothetic new versions, and I found this :
:)
the Zak McKracken 2 project
Zak McKracken and the Alien Rockstars
Simon the Sorcerer and the whole magic door
And many many other links (most of them are here)
It seems that the Adventure Games Community is still alive, and producing quality remakes of the old games we played many years ago
...as it's been posted twice :)

I used PC Anywhere (under windows 2000) for a few years, and it's a good product.
You can acces a remote PC, but also transfer files. It uses an efficient compression method, and can use encryption.
Probably one of the most underrated movies ever : Yor, the Hunter from the Future.
can you imagine a whole Beowulf cluster of theese things ?! well...huh...nevermind :)

You should have a look at Think Geek...they have many posters and gadgets that should fit very well in a room like yours...as it fits in mine :)
Big Brother is often a good choice.

Well, I fell like I have to remind you that XBox is basically full of gaming hardware...it's not done for cluster-things.
:)
This reminds me of the time I put 3 coffee-machines together to see what it did : good coffee, but really bad foating-point calculations
The French techno band Daft Punk also did this 2 years ago. The ID gave an access to restricted parts of their website.

VNC ! It's free, cross platform (linux, windows, ...) and you can download it here .

Please stop that, scientists !
It recalls me the movie " 12 monkeys " I saw a few days ago

Anybody did this ?
- You'd better stop coffee and start drinking some tea. Aim for quality tea , it's not so expensive, but really tastes better. try with honey or sugar
- Try getting a better chair or armchair
- Listen to some quiet music (I recommend SomaFM's Drone Zone ).
It worked for me...well I still don't write my best code, but I think it's because I'm too lazy
Well, is there any file-level protection system that wasn't cracked ? remember that it's only '0's and '1's :)
