In my idealized world I think I would like to see Christians, who if they really believe in the things Jesus said to:
- Abandon their fixation on money and wealth and lead a life where they dedicated themselves to the well being of their fellow man and not to lining their pockets
Done.
- Stop supporting politicians and institutions who are proponents and purveyors of wars and killing.
I trust all those who chant "Boycott Sony!" have read TFA and added these jokers to their "do not buy from" list, along with Rambus, Intel, Philips, Amazon and the rest.
remember, Gravity is a theory as well; Or do you believe your god sucks?
Gravity is directly observable. You suspend something from a big object and let it go. It's attracted to that big object in a predictable fashion.
Evolution is not observable. There are fossils. There are bacteria that become immune to antibiotics. There are genomes. There are different species of just about every organism. None of which support evolution, unless you already assume it.
Science holds most dear that which can be objectively, repeatedly, independently verified. Religion, on the other hand...religion is nothing without faith.
Yes that's true.
And the reason evolution is often categorised into the latter is due to evolution so far standing up to none of the former.
Faith is not ``willful ignorance,'' but rather ``willful insanity'' or ``willful idiocy.'' Faith is a thing deserving not praise and respect, but pity and scorn.
And how much faith do you have in evolution being true?
I just don't get the whole water conservation deal.
I mean, it's apparent that some rivers and lakes are being drained dry and that's bad for the locals and all if they're not being replenished, and that should be enough for local water conservation in those areas for sure.
But on a global scale? People go on about wasting water like it's a resource that's being consumed. How does one waste water? When it goes down the plug hole, it's still water. From there when it finds its way into the ground or ocean is it not still water? Then it evaporates and rains down somewhere else. Is it not still water then?
It's not really like oil that we actually burn and consume is it?
The way people go on about it I'm almost expecting someone to start seminars on Peak Water in a couple of years...
What is the motivation for buying one of these beyond some artificial cool factor?
Gaming? Is there any game available or in development for the XBox2 that can't be played better on a PC? Online gaming? Well, the only services I know of can't play with anything except other XBoxes. HDTV? Even with 1080i it's still nowhere nere the bare MINIMUM requirement for modern fps games: 1280x1024@100HZni@2xFSAA. Media center? If I wanted a media center I'd install MythTV on my Linux box.
Perhaps this unit might make a nice linux box, who knows? I haven't seen a mod chip for it yet.
Maybe people just like bending over for Microsoft...
The stem cell worriers aren't really worried about stem cells or their source, they're worried about how close we're getting to a comfortable understanding of cellular mechanics.
I disagree.
The worry many people have about using stem cells is that if this method skyrockets, there will be a higher demand for stem cells, which at the moment at least would necessitate a large commercial market for dead babies.

Will we be seeing you on Sunday?
Maybe we just don't see anything just or right about sacrificing the innocent to save the guilty.
Until one comes to realise that all are guilty.
But you know you'll still be first in line when the PS3 comes out.
Of course you'll have to push past me first.
I trust all those who chant "Boycott Sony!" have read TFA and added these jokers to their "do not buy from" list, along with Rambus, Intel, Philips, Amazon and the rest.
Really? It made the 6 o'clock news here in New Zealand.
What, you actually bought one of those things?
Couldn't wait for any actual games to come out for it I take it?
I wouldn't go examining their aperture too closely.
After all, they're convinced the sun shines from it.
Personally, I wouldn't have bought an ipod.
Being a Debian man too, I'm wondering how long it will be until we can apt-get install this program...
You're new here, right?

This looks like a lot of fun (both building it and playing it), but it's been done before.
I've had a go at one of these in the local mall and they are great input devices when calibrated correctly.

But if you are touching up photos you would benefit from more than 8 bits per channel.
As an amateur photographer, this in my opinion outweighs CMYK as the biggest drawback of the GIMP.
... remember to take a good supply of OpenCDs for the relatives at the thanksgiving table this year.
They're a useful response to nearly every IE-related question you'll be asked.
There's a joke there, I just know it.

Dude,
that's a PDA
It can also be bypassed by just using Linux.
That was assuming 100 CDs in Texas.
How many Sony CDs do you think are circulating in Texas?
So how did the Frozen Bubble game go? I didn't see it in the results.
Or tetris for that matter, or Quake3...
All of these run on a lot more platforms than *ahem* Halo 2.
Hang on this is the World Cyber Games isn't it. What do you mean it's just some contest for a couple of games on Microsoft-only platforms?
I'll prepare for it by remembering not to buy one.
/. seems to have forgotten this.
I'm getting a PS3. It will just be better.
I don't care how evil Sony Music is, (who has very little to do with Sony Computer Entertainment BTW), Microsoft is still the greater evil.
Sadly much of
