Slight problem with your plan; it's very unlikely that people who enjoy reality TV possesses any degree of literacy. In addition, such people do not watch TV shows because they enjoy them, but because the commercials told them to.

It's trivial to get region-free players in the UK; even Tesco (the UK's number one supermarket brand - think Wal-Mart without the greeters) sell them openly. The only places that won't are Sony Centres, quelle surprise, and Dixons Group stores (think Circuit City but with staff that would fail the Turing Test).

The funny thing is that staff at shops that won't sell them (or refuse to tell you the remote code for unlockable players) try to claim that it's 'illegal' for them to do so. Which is strange as the staff at the Panasonic store were quite happy to unlock my new player for me - filthy criminals!

For the record I won't vote for any party that won't keep it's hands off my rights and my money. So most elections I end up voting for the (old) Liberal Pary, or spoiling the ballot paper.

For that purpose analogue displays are considered superior to digital, regardless of what's inside.

On a nit-picking note (on Slashdot?!?) I have to point out that not all mechanical watches sweep, and not all digital timed/analogue display watches 'tick'. Though a sweeping second-hand is usually a sign of a quality watch.

If you're running a fully x86 shop then Linux/*BSD is the best choice - they were built with the architecture in mind and their lack of scalability isn't an issue on a 4 processor box.

However, if you need an ultra-reliable, 128Gb, 32 processor server you buy a Sun and run Solaris on it. It's the only operating system that can fully take advantage of Sun's high-end hardware.

Yes, you could run Solaris x86 exclusively in a PII/III shop. But you wouldn't gain anything from doing so.

Companies do not, have not and never will outsource because it results in good quality work. That's merely a lie to placate their customers.
