    Two paths are before us. One leads to increasing proprietary control, protectionist measures and legal threats, while the other leads to open source, freedom and accelerated nnovation.
    I, of course, choose the latter because it is "win-win."


    .. and that choice implies a "noWin-win"

    The problem with content is that in addition to the filming equipment that needs to be changed, HDTV will not miss any fault in the set.
    Every detail needs to be corrected. If there is part of a rock that does not look real, it will show on the screen. Shows like buffy will need to get better sets.
    The only example I have in mind is the Jules Verne adventures.
    I have seen the set (actually, we cut it up and took it to build our mansion for a live action fantasy wargame, Bicolline) and it was amazing. I don't know much about tv sets for series, but I have been told that a normal one would look horrible when shown by a HDTV, especially stuff like fake crypts or makeup.

    I've seen that in a different situation.
    Renaming all .rxx to _rxx.gif
    And of course every file of the archive was down to less than a meg, just to look like a legit picture. but that's totally another story. (ie: putting files on free servers while trying to hide them)

    Usually, I just block the pictures mentally. So including content in a picture will have no effect on me.
    (Some WILL get through and then I will get an urge to drool when I hear a bell ring or some other weird action/reaction effect #shudder#
    damn you subliminal messages. and it's all the fault of that part of my brain I don't use.. lousy brain.)

    If I remember correctly, the Dreamcast has a 200mhz risc chip, SH-4 processor and also has a customized version of wince somewhere.

    A bit dated, yes, but still impressive.

    And we can probably build a beowulf cluster, but it could get heavy to carry.
    It would be great to have contacts in each palm, and build the connection by just holding hands..

    That would be the time to test those new "low limit" credit cards.

    They issue a credit card with a limitied amount and a one shot use, if I remember correctly.

    The Visa Cash card seems to do just that. Prevend them from charging more than what you want. Anyone know if it is supported by every site that support credit cards or just some specific ones?

    Seems like this one comes with a decent keyboard.

    It does look more like a portable desktop computer.
    I wonder what the battery life is like. You can probably count it in nanoseconds.
    (Is SXGA a buzzword or is it just some standard I missed?)

    The only thing I did not know was that there WERE some heat issues involved, according to this guy.

    Hurrah for Mario Party and Sonic Shuffle.

    But the problem is when they get to be "single player board game"

    Then again, my brother had fun playing Talisman using all the characters. That game took quite a few hours.

    There was a time when I just wished MS ripped QT's codec and put it in their media player.

    I mean.. For a player, all you need is a play button and a stop button.
    We do not need animated menus or sweet shading. Just a simple old box.

    Guis.. There should be an option to "turn all the options off".
    Base skin should be no skin. Naked.
    Just like a pen does not need some purty little bunnies on it to write effectively.

    Still. Happy 10th', QT. You've put on some weight lately, but fortunately I still have an older version on my Lodoss War cds.
