    I mean, there's bound to be more sources of information on the security Microsoft has to offer, no?

    The problem I can see with such technology is that it should be adjustable to your vision.

    The article is about computers/robots seeing in 3d, not us. It will enable much more precise handling of objects in realtime, whatever the application might be. (insert ref to porn here)

    3D glasses have already been with us for genrations.

    It's all down the the "why should I use linux on my cash registers? Any example of where it is working well? Any big guns using it right now?".

    Most of you probably don't remember the EDI rollout.. When transactions and inventories were being standardized electronically. To implement their solutions, consultants (read: sellers) needed to provide living examples of how this technology can help them.

    Same thing for the "upgrade" to Linux. Business want good solid examples of "leaders" not in the high-tech industry. Just like that "Microsoft Battles Free Software at Pentagon" story (which I'm going to read next! promise!) would be a good blow against MS for someone who wants to sell a Linux solution.

    That meteor style ring rocks, btw.
    Colors are silver, blue, purple or iridescent.

    With its cheapest band around 100us$, I wouldn't really call it "expensive".

    Forget words.
    Use pictograms. They are much more intuitive.
    (or if cryptic enough, force you to read the manual)

    "Settings" can easily be replaced by spinning gears, "graphics" by an eye or a camera icon, "controls" by a gamepad, and "this game sucks" by penis bird.

    And a few years ago at univ, I was secretary of the student association there, AESSUQAM (association etudiante .

    It always cracks me up to see AES and DES stuff.

    Studying in physics may have been a factor.

    Who can say what a real research is before we can find the final product?
    Who knows what applications or concepts can be extracted from what a research finds?

    Scientists do not research for profit, or for launching things in space or for making the big bucks.

    (and yes, it is THAT kind of thinking that got me choosing Physics over engineering, and now working for a call center, eating kraft dinner)
