I was talking with a co-worker about this yesterday who's been watching the show. Apparently, not only did they test for gullibility, but they tested for good-naturedness. (Or at least ability to take being mocked and put in embarrassing situations.)
Since it wasn't a name, but a slightly tortuous title, I was half expecting this article would be like one of those "Ask A..." advice columns from The Onion:
Dear Author of the Latest MS-Funded Windows vs. Linux Study, My boyfriend doesn't seem willing to commit, even though we've been dating for several years. What should I do to win him over? Reluctant in Redmond
Dear Reluctant, After careful analysis, we've ascertained that Microsoft Windows is superior in a final cost-benefit ratio proportionate to the effectivity of the synergy hybridized compared to the open source model.
One of his minds is dedicated exclusively to managing the clutter in the others. One mind is for writing gags about the clutter. Another is dedicated to writing about cheese.
Actually, this is possible. I've been in the PvP zones. They're in the same universe, and can interact, just not constantly. (Mostly to avoid grief, I think.)
That's interesting. I was just going through the film in my head and couldn't think of one thing from the movie that it didn't explain for itself. Obviously there's more depth to the characters if you watch the series first, but everything was explained pretty much immediately. (Although not in the first few minutes of the movie for the characters that aren't on the ship when it begins.)
Actually, science is the study of reality, testing its own assertions. Real scientists don't believe science is actual truth, they believe it's method for attempting to find the truth.
Being willing to acknowledge that it has been wrong from time to time does not mean science is trying to "disprove itself"; it's trying to find the truth, and not simply claim it's known it all along.
I'm not sure what you mean by religion being a "combined study", but it doesn't sound like a religion. Sure people who are religious can study science, and as long as they're being rigorous and willing to admit it when their theories are proven wrong, they're still scientists.
Did you mean Maine? I live in Portland (Oregon) and besides being able to order stuff besides pizza in the good old days of Kozmo, you can still order food from places like http://delivereddish.com/ in Portland. They've got some great restaurants on their list.
We had a case of layoff sabotage at a company I worked for once. The best part is how we found out -- he bragged about it during an interview. The other company, being friends of ours, let us know.
Well, you have to remember that everything up here (earth's crust, the oceans, twinkies) is just riding around on a massive sea of magma, so yeah, probably.

Sadly, we can't be sure whether Hipgnosis really exists.

The spelling is a little different, but it's the original supercontinent, before the family split apart: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gondwanaland

Keytags! (Damn, should have patented that. But damn, the .com is taken.)
But they cost a lot more than a book.
And often, not even then...

Heh. That and my friend who goes by the name Zombra are what I think of every time I read "Zimbra". Oh, and the Talking Heads song.
Not so invisibly.
On the other hand, we've got Intel. And Linus. There's actually lots of tech here, it's just cheaper to live.

No can do. Surely you've heard that money has root access to all evil?
Maybe that's why he picked kind of a dull alias, for balance.
And they convicted Al Capone on tax evasion.
Sometimes it's good just to get them off the street and stop them from committing the crimes.

This is what you get for laying your cable over ancient R'lyeh.

I don't think he got that job, either.
Yep, hence my hasty correction, and I even screwed that up. Need more sleep.
And, of course, in my post. "Their was", should have been "there was". Just a typo. I know better.
Bzzt.
I ain't sure if you're joking, but Check here just in case.
However, their was a mistake in the grandparent, in the spelling of "sentence." So it goes.
I don't know if they're sent from Windows boxes, but that would explain all the spam I'm getting chanting for CPU's.
This comes on the heals of rival Check Point being breached for 145,000 profiles last month in a similar case. Better check yourself.
I somehow doubt there's been a lot of healing from the ChoicePoint affair.
