Or here's a thought Corning, come up with glass that will last for the life of the phone instead of breaking so easily. I care less about a folding phone and more about a phone I can use without a gigantic case.
Blue has been making very decent studio-quality mics for over 20 years. No, they are not up there with Neumann, but the large-diaphragm condensers have a very acceptable sound and that's a good alternative to other studio mics for those who want that sound. I like AKG in that price range and have always liked Shure and Audio Technica in the lower price ranges. I have not used their USB mics and don't have a need.
For those who really like the studio mics, this could end up being like CBS purchasing Fender in 1965. It will take a while, but commoditization will drive out the things that made the products what they are.
I can second this. Their non-podcasting, studio grade mics have a good reputation within the recording community.
While you can block based on IP, this doesn't address EU citizens living abroad in non-EU countries like the US. GDPR applies to all EU citizens regardless of location.
I've seen her filling nothing more than an a club.
While her band by itself probably hasn't, when The Dresden Dolls opened for Nine Inch Nails during the With Teeth tour they were playing huge venues. They had a pretty big following during the mid-2000s.
You'll probably want to get a Macbook pro then versus the everyday man's Macbook. Macbook pro has always had more connections than the Macbook and Macbook Air.
If you are seeking a career outside of academia you need to have some projects under your belt that you can use as reference for interviews. Tell them about what projects you worked in school. Tell them about the challenges you faced and the successes and failures you encountered. Contribute to some open source projects using languages you are interested in working in. No one is going to hire an unproven candidate, especially not for the salary that a Ph.D is going to command. Think about what the employer is seeking and mold yourself to fit that deacription. Companies don't think about YOUR needs, they are thinking about their own. You must make the case that you can provide value as a resource to them.
When you look at the TCO, Macs are not significantly more expensive that PCs considering they don't need to get upgraded as often. I just retired a Mac laptop that I had been using for 9 years, the only reason I retired it is because it's was from the PowerPC CPU days and apps that I wanted to use couldn't run on it.
Noise canceling headphones work great for constant, predictable noise (case fan hum, airplane engines) but for non-repeating random noise such and people walking by talking they don't work well at all.
You're better off getting some sealed earbuds like some sennheiser CX400s and listening to something in those. Background music without any sort of vocals usually makes for good studying music.
I telecommute for work and I used a Logitech Skype phone with an incoming phone number for about a year. Several hours of my day were spent on conference calls. I ended up having to ditch the Skype phone because of numerous issues. Majority of the time the phone would work fine but there were issues will calls that lasted longer than 30 minutes. Calls would randomly drop, the voice wave would change frequency and become super slowed down, they'd stop hearing me, etc. Had to go back to using a regular land line. I also tried to survive just using my cellphone but the reception in my home office isn't great so my coworkers would have a hard time hearing me.
Hmm, just a way for domain registrars to make more money? https:/// should be sufficient, browsers already inform you when you have a secure connection.
What a lot of people don't realize is that we don't have the engineering mindtrust in the US anymore to manufacture a lot of these components. It's not as simple as just building factories here, we need the skilled labor as well.
Hopefully things have changed but when my wife and I tried to donate our son's cord blood back in 2007 they wanted $250 for collection and transportation costs. If I'm donating these valuable stem cells shouldn't they waive these fees?
In European counties such as Denmark where on the whole the standard of living and quality of life are better than the US, people work less than we do. They have more time with their families enjoying life instead of killing themselves at the office. Americans are trained to feel like they have to overwork in order to get ahead, we should really strive towards following the European model.
I have an HTC EVO. Android's voice recognition is generations behind what Siri does. I can tell my EVO "dial wife home" and it works maybe 20% of the time. It's not natural language either. Because it's so inconsistent it's faster for me to just not use voice command at all.
It's a common misconception that AOL's primary business is still dial-up access. They make more money nowadays with their content sites like TMZ, Moviefone, Engadget, etc.
I don't see them ever stopping production of computers. The publishing, video and audio worlds are all dominated by Macs and Mac specific software. Why would they want to give up that revenue?

The poop emoji should work just fine.

I remember donating something like $20-30 back in 2001. I still use the service in 2014.

So what the article is telling me is that neanderthals looked like a stockier version of Gollum...

Someone mod the parent up. It's easy to troll Apple without looking at how this will really affect users.

After all these years I still visit Slashdot daily. Thanks for the memories!
Pot meet kettle.
Hmmm, I have netflix on my android phone and on OS X, it's not Silverlight only.
Really? People still use TPB? i thought everyone pretty much moved onto private trackers.
