I want to say the Backyard series is the most profitable of the group.

Anyways, I am ashamed to say I rented Tomb Raider AOD for a wasteful $5, and returned it literally 2 hrs later.

  2. Re:American Purchase? on EA Founder Predicts MS Purchase of Nintendo · · Score: -1

A buyout from M$ is possible. Nintendo had lost 2 major 3rd party development companies that killed its console future. They lost RARE to M$. They lost Square to Sony.

For sure the gamecube has lost the console war this generation. If they lose the handheld battle too, it'll take them at least 1 more bad console launch before they spiral like the late 90s Sega. Which took 32x, 32x CD, Saturn and Dreamcast to do enough damage.

Afterwards they can become profitable selling Metroid, Zelda and Mario games on the playstation and xbox.

    AllofMp3 - 10 cents a song, under investigation

The PS2 hard drives did sell well until Sony discontinued it due to the CDloader software. It allowed people to load games permanently on their HD.

1.) You get super fast loading times

2.) you never have to put in a CD, just load from disk

3.) your playstation life span has expanded by many years since you no longer need to spin the CD.

4.) you can just rent any game and OWN it

5.) supposedly you can load some foreign/import games too

Sony has to get these little things right. The Nintendo handheld monopoly has got to go. It has had a firm hold in this market since the early 90s.

It's funny that Nintendo released gameboy boy black and white lasting a decade, with zero motivation to improve. Then GB advanced, color and DS all launched in the span of 3 years under competition from Sony. It's not even real competition yet, just winding up.

If you are the publisher, you need to give a $$$ chunk back to those who gave you the licensed right to use LOTR or spiderman etc. There is no chunk to give back if you are not using movie names. Simple as that. Publishers are people who burn CDs and slap a logo on the developer's hardwork. They want to cash in bigger and bigger.
