    It's funny how a cracked copy runs faster without movies. Takes up less MB space because of no movies, and it doesn't need a no-cd crack. I can't think of 1 PC game that I legally purchased that gave me all 3.

    Well, it took me 200hrs to get as much as all the weapons in Final Fantasy X for PS2. Isn't 80hrs like standard in any RPG nowadays.

    But that's still better than 2000hrs of Enemy Territory and UT2004 and COD.

    I don't know if anyone attempted to use Kazaa lately. But 98% of anything I download off Kazaa has been decrypted with an annoying buzz noise. You can't even get songs off Kazaa P2P anymore.

    And sharezilla sucks, everyone I know who installed it has gotten blue screens of death. Is there a linux P2P alternative? There, U2 shouldn't worry.

    There are too many holes and gaps in the patent system. Everything is so vague you can patent a flying car... just on a plastic model alone with some BS blueprints.

    It's a complicated subject that gets even more complicated as time goes on. Like the Xeon Pentium chips that count as multiple processors in windows.... but it's really 1 physical chip. What if they were emulating stuff thru vmware. Now 1 chip is really on multiple OSes. Etc Etc.

    No licenses today can contractually prepare for innovative stuff in the future. That's why 90% of hi-tech lawyers should quit and leave us techies alone.

    3.) The missions in general lack creativity. How about delivering a truck full of cocks and then the chicken turn out to have explosives inside. Which she can use to destroy the tomb as a finale.

    That is true, the MX series are a complete joke. A GEforce 3 Ti500 will blow Geforce 4MX out of the water. It's bad marketing like this that put geforce4 on everyone's desk. And everyone complained, thus ATI jumped ahead for a while. Though let's be honest people should be using Matrox 2D cards in the office.

    I have said this before. No 2 other companies are more responsible for the success and failure of PC gaming. If video cards work like they should...

    1.) There won't be 8 million forums for troubleshooting. You don't see tons of PS2 owners complaining about their games not working.

    2.) There wouldn't be a new driver needed every month. There is no reason for regression. The old drivers should never work better than the newer ones.

    3.) There wouldn't be overburned cards and returns. Christ, I shouldn't have to run a cable to my bathtub.

    When M$ use the term ROI...

    in linux land = Rapid Opensource Infection

    When M$ use the term TCO...
    in MS land = Total Cost of Ownership
    in linux land = Trouble Causing Opensource

    When M$ use the term IRS...
    in MS land = Internal Revenue Service
    in linux land = Internal Revenue Service
    (They know to not mess with this one)

    It's about time someone somewhere considers using a decent engine to make RTCW. Enemy territory engine plain sucks by today's standards. It's so poorly made they released the game for free. The game concept is excellent, but the game is in need of bug fixes, stronger punkbuster and everything else in between. Compared to other games, it runs lousy on my AT Radeon 9800 pro 128MB.

    Not to mention marketing isn't really the problem here. Plenty of developers like/prefer to do everything in java. Problem is the performance. I don't care how fast your machine is, or what 1000-processor machine you ported it to. It still runs slow.

    Seriously this is probably priority 100 on his list. ASP already has had such a long foothold on server side scripting that it'd take a lot to convince existing pages to change over to PHP.

    If they can figure out how to build an affordable robot that's smart enough and capable of cleaning any house effectively, it'll send the robotics industry to new heights. Until then, all these research are a sleeper.
