Heh I just want enough modes to rival UT2004. I don't know how regular single player with the addition of team deathmatch will keep me addicted for months on.
Look at UT2004 there are 10 modes of plays. Doom III won't even come close. I am not complaining, just stating the fact.
While Sun stuff is good. Altix xvm and cxfs blows away the entire line of Sun foundation suite of leadville stack, solstice disksuite. Not to mention sun cluster is completely overrated. They have to rely on veritas cluster to pull them through. If people really follow up with SGI, they're clearly on the rebound in the hi-end market. But even if they beat Sun, they still won't beat IBM in this sector.
Look on the brighter side. They could have brought back the PAID olympic channels red white and blue. At that point, you'd be watching people's training, interviews and everything else on top of the competition for 50hrs x 3 channels. And if you don't watch, it's kind of a waste of money.
I so agree. U.S. is an empire that's falling apart daily with BS regulations. The video game scene is no more violent than the news. Tell Japan the country with one of the lowest crime rate in the galaxy to ban video game violence. They'll think it's a complete joke.
- Video games do not induce violence. - Athletes are not role models. - RIAA is meaningless. - DOJ is also useless.
Man that is too true. I just don't understand why it takes so much maintainance expenses to keep these games running? Do they buy and add a new server every month or something? It's crazy.
10000 users x $10 = $100000 a month. That's a ludicrous maintainance expense for any service.
Will Smith's real bad movies are the MIB series. If you really read up on director/actor/movie bios on a regular basis, you'd know he actually turned down an offer to go to MIT. People always judge a movie by the actors. Look at who's producing it first.
Yes and no. The lifestyle in Toronto is superior to that of India. They have baseball, basketball and everything else is nearly identical to a Boston for example. More cultural than most US cities I have traveled to actually. What am I saying Toronto IS better than Boston too?!
In the 16bit genesis days I remember how important first generation games were. Now it's alot less important with people usually waiting a year before they buy a system at price drop.
People are also 10x more alert and careful with what the buy given all this internet info available too.
Haven't Japan learned that M$ is invincible everywhere even in the U.S. If our very own DOJ couldn't put up a dent, what makes you think Japan would be any different.
Last time an article on slashdot recommended Vivisimo and I was blown away by how much better than google it was in many ways. So I wouldn't count out another search engine making google obsolete in the future.
Come on people. Network is the biggest problem, not gameplay or graphics. Online games have so much more potential than single player offline games, but lag is still too common.
Almost.... Almost.... I think your reasoning is good. Though the biggest reason to release a demo before hitting stores is to check a game against real world hardware requirements.
It's just plain easier to fix problems when a million beta/demo testers at home lets you know where all the potholes versus fixing it as final patch 1.0 etc etc.
Oh I had that card for years. Amazingly I left that thing cooking in a PC case in a hot room with no ventilation for a year and the card didn't even overheat once. They sure don't know how to make cards cool like they used to.
While I agree.... the truth of the matter is every console eventually gets beaten over time. Nintendo sat at the top and didn't do nearly enough while SNES just went south.
Sony made some mistakes in PS2 that they better fix in PS3. Like bundling network adapters, and making games easier to go online. That stuff will be key in the next generation. They mind as well go wireless now.
Well even if the SEC weren't involved, Redhat had a rough 2004 by pulling the plug of the redhat distro in favor of the corporate version and fedora. I know so many diehard fans going the way of debian and suse. Losing fan base will kill your company faster than the SEC.
Xconfigurator used to be the key thing if you had any graphical needs. But the KDE GUI makes all that graphical tweaking as transparent as windows desktop nowadays.
I could swear somewhere in the early marketing phase they said Doom III was more optimized for Nvidia Geforce cards. Where as half-life 2 was better for ATI cards.
This is lame. If they really wanted the entire industry to NOT record anything on DVD/CDR etc. Just stop selling DVD and CD writers period!
You want to stop cocaine use? Don't let cocaine grow in the country or prevent import. Don't sell it on the street, and hire a million cops to arrest grandmothers and kids.
Well... if you want to talk about abusing science. Read the novel "The 70 Greatest Conspiracies of All time". Things like NASA going to the moon fakely done in a hollywood studio etc etc.
It's bad that Bush abused science to go to war. I just hope Bush didn't use science to trick the American public into thinking he caught Saddam, when in reality he's still running around.

If this is true and not some M$ marketing BS, I'd seriously give them credit. Console online gaming is in need of some fuel for development.

Looks like that link has flash or something. It's going to be slashdotted to hell.

At least you can check out these live video feeds for free.

Technically a couple of Duke games came out for PS1 and other consoles too.

Well depending on how you look at it. Cause playboy.kids.us isn't so childish. Quite frankly neither is amazon.kids.us.
Just to let you how history Yahoo is. In a post about Yahoo acquiring oddpost, more people are talking about google gmail more than anything.
