The problem with your theory is that Hitler & co. had some intellect. Bush is a rambling idiot, supported by people whom given the power could act like Hitler. The American populace, however, prefers idiots to idealists, so we're probably safe from voting for Hitler's reincarnation.
It's society. Despite the gripes of you 'we completely determine who we are' people, girls have been conditioned not to play video games by other girls. Have you ever wandered in on a gaggle of girls squawking about the lastest in gaming? No, because they're trained to squawk about the latest in fashion, or reality TV (Forgive my bird motiff). Guys have more independent qualities, because they're social structure is competitive and not supportive. Therefore, you see more guys shrugging off the geek stereotype and playing Civ II for 8 hours straight. Girls raised independently however, are more likely to consider gaming as a viable option for entertainment.
While the study may be empirical, it's the researcher's opinion on what defines addiction. Most define it as something harmful to the victim, thus they attempted to prove that games were harming people but reducing their social lives.
But where is the control variable? How do we know that these people would have better social lives if gaming does not exist?
I once went a week without playing video games. Instead, I watched T.V. all week! There is clearly something in my personality that makes me generally avoid leaving the house unless motivated.
I believe the issue is not with video games, but there is likely common behavioral trends within those who play them which makes video games an ideal way to deal with anxiety and boredom which is there regardless.
I admit, I don't like being blown off for everquest any more then the next guy, but you assume people wouldn't be blowing you off if they weren't playing games, which is yet to be determined.
If you go into the movie expecting it to be what you want it to be, then of course you will be dissapointed. Regardless, it is still entertaining and good storytelling, and I encourage everyone to go see it and instead of bitching try and reflect on the great monologues and imagery in the movie.
My main fear about joining an MMOG is that I'll make friends, then ditch them for my real friends, and then everyone will hate me because I chose RL over the fake one. So I'd probably have more fun in a game where working together isn't that important.
Right now I'd rather have an orange.
Patch bites can be preti nasti mind you
In spite of my system running slowly and sometimes crashing (and the fact that I'm rather broke these days), I'll stick with my 98 for now.
I've been running XP for almost 6 months and it has *never* crashed.
Switch you fool! (Oh, and inquire your fellow nerds for a, um, *cough*, discount)
I agree with your last point, but whenever I see adults rushing to hinder the dissemination of things they see as bad, I'd prefer to say:
Please America, stop blaming the gaming/movie/music industry period.
So hopefully the British rover will have tea ready for us when we get there. Jolly good.
Haha, nope.
Am I the only one secretly amused by that whole affair?
Hmm, I think by the time of King Arthur the Syrian capital had been moved to Damascus. Could be wrong there.
If there was any warning of doom for the country, I'd hope it was about the oncoming Roman legions.
And is in fact the lumberjack 'ok'?
No way. An african swallow maybe, but they're not talking 'bout a european swallow.
I'm searching, I'm searching! But it's not easy to find the One, you know, before Agent Gates gets to them.

Uh, Neo, hate to say this but...

I hate Yoghurt! Especially with strawberries!
Instead, people will assign their voucher to a friend, whether or not they'd ever pay for any of their music
So we get free cash from our buddies and free music? Why are you against this?
That review was hilarious despite the bias. Anyway, I don't mind the existance of There of it keeps all the creeps away from the rest of the internet.
Ah, so you one of those annoying guys on my team that instead of covering me with a machine gun are running around like fools trying to stab people!
(woah, had to get that out of my system. Anyway, I guess I'm no better, what with trying to beat the final fantasys at the lowest levels possible.)

Anyone who says that Apple doesn't influence technology trends is either blind or ignorant.
Lucky for you, noone really says that. They just say Apple sucks.
I wish to purchase the following number of units:* @ $299.00 ea.
I think taking an extra five minutes to get around is better than dishing out 300 bucks!

This has nothing to do with guns! This is about free speech, so I fully expect the ACLU to help out as they would with any censorship issue.
They don't support your right to have guns, but they do support your right to have a website about guns.
Thanks for changing the subject to bash the ACLU though.
great sig man
