It doesnt matter whether they are educated or if they vote randomly. The point is, the more urban youth that vote this election, the more important this group will be viewed by politicians. Right now politicians widely ignore urban youth because they dont vote in large masses. If, this tuesday, 20 million go out and vote (even if they vote completely randomly) and all it takes is 5000 votes to change the output, then next election you WILL see politicians focusing on issues fundamental to urban youth.

He likened new technology devices such as cameras and microphones to parts of the human body and his views often landed him in heated debates with other scientists.

Turing believed an intelligent machine could be created by following the blueprints of the human brain. He wrote a paper in 1950 describing what is now known as the Turing Test.

The test consisted of a person asking questions via keyboard to both a person and an intelligent machine. He believed that if computer's answers could not be distinguished from those of the person after a reasonable amount of time, the machine was somewhat intelligent. This test has become a standard measure of the artificial intelligence community.

I know it wont work for you, sicne your donating an iMac (i dont believe Knoppix is available for PPC's), but I recently setup a school computer lab and found the best solution to keep the computers working is just leave a knoppix cd in the drive and use knoppix live cd as the OS.

They can listen to their music, compose documents (OO), browse the web with flash, install plugins for firefox (granted its linux so they cant install much), etc. Plus, some of the older kids even like to mess around in linux to learn it a bit. They can do anything that they need to, and the best part: no matter what, when they reboot the computer is back to normal.

I've seen similar windows software (fortess, deep freeze), but they all resulted in crippled systems (fortress wouldnt let you right click because then you could potentially disable the program). I also was able to get around deep freeze in high school in about 30 minutes, and Im sure some smart student can bypass fortress if they truly wanted to (it was not used when i was in school). Knoppix, however, is not subject to such vulnerabilities and provides more functionality. Plus, its free and 3rd party apps can cost a heapload.

Seriously, if you're doing a project like this guy with x86's, at least consider knoppix as an option. It really does have a lot of pro's.

After you've got a very renewable resource as fuel, then you can worry about new car designs. I'm sorry for Toyota but glad personally that the United States would never start driving cars like that.
