  1. $1000 dollar? on Solar Power Eliminates Utility Bills in U.S. Home · · Score: 1

The article mentions an annual $1000 dollar for gasoline to be used in the calculation. What is the situation here? Does the person have a super-lean car? Does the person not drive at all? Or is gasoline (`benzine` over here) still ridiculously low in price over there?

  2. Outside? on Fiber TV Install and Experience · · Score: 1

Why are the fibers etc mounted in a box outside of the home and then is the signal led into the home? This would be the same as hanging my NT-1 (for ISDN...) on the sidewalk.: not too wise.

  3. Invest as a private person? on Should Google Go Nuclear? · · Score: 1

What if a private person wants to invest? Just normal people with no big money but with an idea that this fusion type should work? What can be done? What we do?

  4. Anti? on Clinton to Start $1 Billion Renewable Energy Fund · · Score: 1

Isn't this initiative very anti-American? I mean: it's on the verge of communism! (joking of course) I think the idea and initiative are very good. Let's see what follows from this.

  6. Software? on DIY Random Number Generator · · Score: 1

  8. Multitail! on Sysadmin Toolbox Top Ten · · Score: 4, Interesting

Why wasn't multitail mentioned? MultiTail lets you view one or multiple files like the original tail program. The difference is that it creates multiple windows on your console (with ncurses). It can also monitor wildcards: if another file matching the wildcard has a more recent modification date, it will automatically switch to that file. That way you can, for example, monitor a complete directory of files. Merging of 2 or even more logfiles is possible. It can also use colors while displaying the logfiles (through regular expressions), for faster recognition of what is important and what not. It can also filter lines (again with regular expressions). It has interactive menus for editing given regular expressions and deleting and adding windows. One can also have windows with the output of shell scripts and other software. When viewing the output of external software, MultiTail can mimic the functionality of tools like 'watch' and such.

  12. Analog? on Philips Launching TV on Cellular in the US · · Score: 1

  13. Get over it. on Blizzard Made Me Change My Name · · Score: 1

Get over it. (It is their policy. The time of finding out does not matter.) Just as much as we must get over you not accepting our submissions if they are not USA-centric enough.

  14. privilege on RIAA Goes After Satellite Radio · · Score: 2, Informative

The ability to record for private use off `the radio` is an old privilege. Currently we (in Europe?) even pay (!) for the media on which we store those recordings. So the **AA can go away. They have no foot to stand on. $$$ is already paid, eventhough that very same media can be used for non-**AA involved uses. (as your own photo's, Linux downloads, etc)

  15. UK gone bonkers? on London Tube Dangerous for Technophiles? · · Score: 5, Insightful

I do SERIOUSLY think the UK has gone too far. Taking DNA, fingerprints and more without serious reason (that was evident at the time of the 'arrest' in the story) is absurd, ridiculous and by all means totally out of proportion. If the arrest was valid and 'normal' in the UK the country is truly bonkers and out of whack. What will happen if the terrorism (not just the type done by the muslim fanatics) continues?
