The article mentions an annual $1000 dollar for gasoline to be used in the calculation.
What is the situation here?
Does the person have a super-lean car?
Does the person not drive at all?
Or is gasoline (`benzine` over here) still ridiculously low in price over there?
Why are the fibers etc mounted in a box outside of the home and then is the signal led into the home?
This would be the same as hanging my NT-1 (for ISDN...) on the sidewalk.: not too wise.
What if a private person wants to invest?
Just normal people with no big money but with an idea that this fusion type should work?
What can be done?
What we do?
Isn't this initiative very anti-American?
I mean: it's on the verge of communism!
(joking of course)
I think the idea and initiative are very good. Let's see what follows from this.
So that was the hardware. What about some software to use this source?
I.e.: gather the pictures, do some hasing, etc?
This would be a nice addition to audio-entropyd....:-)

Why wasn't multitail mentioned?
MultiTail lets you view one or multiple files like the original tail program.
The difference is that it creates multiple windows on your console (with ncurses). It can also monitor wildcards: if another file matching the wildcard has a more recent modification date, it will automatically switch to that file. That way you can, for example, monitor a complete directory of files.
Merging of 2 or even more logfiles is possible. It can also use colors while displaying the logfiles (through regular expressions), for faster recognition of what is important and what not.
It can also filter lines (again with regular expressions). It has interactive menus for editing given regular expressions and deleting and adding windows. One can also have windows with the output of shell scripts and other software. When viewing the output of external software, MultiTail can mimic the functionality of tools like 'watch' and such.
Get over it. (It is their policy. The time of finding out does not matter.)
Just as much as we must get over you not accepting our submissions if they are not USA-centric enough.
The ability to record for private use off `the radio` is an old privilege.
Currently we (in Europe?) even pay (!) for the media on which we store those recordings.
So the **AA can go away. They have no foot to stand on. $$$ is already paid, eventhough that very same media can be used for non-**AA involved uses. (as your own photo's, Linux downloads, etc)
I do SERIOUSLY think the UK has gone too far.
Taking DNA, fingerprints and more without serious reason (that was evident at the time of the 'arrest' in the story) is absurd, ridiculous and by all means totally out of proportion.
If the arrest was valid and 'normal' in the UK the country is truly bonkers and out of whack.
What will happen if the terrorism (not just the type done by the muslim fanatics) continues?
$3 per gallon is still nothing compared to european fuel prices.
On teh otehr hand it appears the rising prices speed up invention a bit more in the US than in Europe? (yes, where shall we put that experimental fusion reactor? takes ages...)
land of the free?
Even at this 'laptop crime' level I see a trend.
I do hope the kids that did this will fight back HARD to let them know how ridiculous the situation is.
Time to call eff?
No way Jose!
Over my dead body.
Don't know what Big Brother *really* is?
'Useful for medical blabla'.. As if medical care is so good anyway.
There is no good reason for people to carry stuff like this in their bodies.Especially at this early stage of this technology. Did you think about security, rights, etc?
No way!

If defender wins, how can he get back at RIAA for a 'false' suit?

So close to each other. So close to that river. There is not even protection against rising water.

Even more space trash. Just what we need. A nice golf ball at whatever nice speed can come in pretty hard...
Implanted? It wasn't mandatory. But if one has, what about that RFID-zapper? Use it near the affected person's arm and voila.
to the 21st century where American puritans still rule. There is nothing to be seen (no skin) and yet there is 'news'.
Is this for analog TV in Europe? If so: they're late. The Dutch public channels will be off the air in analog format starting January 1st, 2006...

Still veru un European. (although ways are-a-changin' here...)

Would this also work on the Rockbox port to Archos Gmini?
Censorship is bad. So why self-censor? Are the german users unable to decide for themselves what is right to see or not?
Go Folkert, go! ;-]
take a look here: http://www.majcher.com/nytview.html it may fix your problem.
And this requires very restrictive copyright law? Pff. Nice place and time we're living in.
Why do such weird laws always 'occur' in the USA? Everbody knows it, USA is no longer the land of the free.
