Maybe Sony wants to sell Cell chips? If they take advantage of the modular nature and move enough to take advantage of scale it pushes their agenda right along.
My bank is still using Win 2K for their frontend (I have no idea what their servers are running). I don't think MS has demonstrated a need to upgrade to most business clients. Going from DOS to Windows was fairly obvious, but dropping something that works for something that should no longer seems like such a good idea.
Zelda isn't your thing? How about some fishing. A whip of the controller and you're casting off. You can bob the line back and forth, left and right.
Indiana Jones Revolution? Sounds good to me.
I haven't listened to the podcast, but a good interviewer, properly edited, will produce a very professional product. There's a reason all those man-on-the-street and witness-to-the-tragedy tv spots come off the way they do: pathos.
Aonuma, the director of Windwaker and Twilight Princess, has said TP will have 70 hours of gameplay. Lots of sidequests and exploration, I think. I can't wait for the 'Nintendo ripped of GTA' comments.
I think he means games are too padded. If I spend 40 hours playing a game it better offer more than repetitive gameplay and some poorly edited FMV. Look at Chronicles of Riddick or Prince of Persia: Sands of Time. No extra filler, just gameplay and the minimum necessary background and story.

Is there an official Audio CD logo on there? Because I know Phillips has started pulling the rights to use the logo from CDs which use copy protection such that they no longer fit the CD Audion standard.
No, MS is building emulation in. They haven't talked about what percentage of Xbox games will be compatible at launch. I imagine there will be updates available over live and with later 360s.
I'm typing this in a personaltelco.net node, which I visit just about every day, and in a couple of months, I've seen no problems with freeloaders (besides me).
Why would he be in trouble? My assumption has been that ASOTV is a PR person with slashdot as his responsibility. He's not going to spill anything too momentous but he keeps misinformation and misinterpretation from spiraling out of control. Slashdot is a major media outlet that needs to be massaged occasionally. Might as well do it subtly.
Price to the consumer? Nintendo wins. Loss per console sold? Nintendo and Sony both look pretty good, but MS can't wait to drop production of the Xbox. I suppose taking a huge loss on hardware for a minimal advantage in power (enjoying those short Fable and Jade Empire load times, btw?) probably doesn't scare MS too much, but notice whose current gen suppliers are being used for the next gen?
Yeah, they launched Halo 2, making one of the largest initial shipments to retail ever, which retails still haven't worked through. Last quarter shouldn't be just seasonally adjusted, it should be adjusted for the fact that a highly anticipated game, with development costs in previous quarters, unbalanced the results.
No, he recognizes that the money in games is made from software sales. Selling games to an install base of 3 million Xbox 360s, 1 million PS3s, and a million N5s (numbers made up, I'm not precognitive) does not have the same revenue potential as selling a game to an install base of 70 million PS2s, and 20 million each of Xbox and Gamecube. I actual expect the industry to really pick up about six months to a year after the PS3 launchs, once gamers have seen all the systems and publishers have a better idea where to send their developing dollars.

Actually, recently MS has been discouraging split screen play in favor of Live play.
Admittedly, Nintendo is busy replacing dogs with virtual pets, as puppy souls provide even more juice.

Black Mesa, don't you? Tell us the truth, Gordon!
Which will be the first game to cost $100 million to develop? The next GTA (6?) or the one after that?

It's hard for EA developers to fit an interview into the 10 hours a week they aren't working or sleeping.

Copying Sony again? Because Sony did the same thing to Sega with the original Playstation.

You are confusing marketing and PR.

Hey, give the PSP some credit. It's got a good puzzler.

Xbox Live support the DS?
in the matrix are developing, which result in breaks in the illusion such as above. Don't worry, Editor Smith's have been dispatched.
No, Canada is a Commonwealth, like Puerto Rico.
The strange thing to me is that the Xbox claims the highest attach rate (games sold per console) but it still can't make money.
