1) $12.95/month or $299 lifetime 2) Nope, Series 2 TiVos require subscriptions and HMO is only available on Series 2 units 3) Yep, it does. At least according to the info here: http://www.tivo.com/2.6.asp
I fail to see how this replaces VoIP solutions and/or makes them irrelevant. After all, you still need a phone line to call the BigZoo access number (unless you plan on making all of your calls through increasingly scarce payphones). So its 2.9 cents a minute plus whatever monthly fee is for the line you use.
The new Replay units don't have Automatic Commercial Advance, but they do have Show|Nav. This feature allows a user to skip commercial breaks by pushing only one button.
The ReplayTV 50xx series has COmmercial Advance. It still records the commercials but it skips them on playback. As an owner I find it works about 95% of the time on most shows and 60% on the rest.
The problem is that fact that SonicBlue (the old owners of ReplayTV) got sued because of this tech and their Internet Sharing tech. So the new owners (DNNA, Digital Networks North America) have removed this feature from the upcoming 55xx series units (the 50xx units are no longer manufactured, but can still be picked up at a few stores). The 55xx series units will have a similar feature, but it will require 1 button press to skip the whole commercial.
"The Gamecube and XBox have similar numbers in terms of units shipped. And compared to the PS2, they're both at the same level."
You didn't say the had similar numbers compared to the PS2 (I would have agreed with you). You said they have similar numbers on their own. I hardly call approx. a 20% difference in shipments similar.
I know your excited to critique other posters, but please ready your own comments first.
I think this is the best use of the GBA-GC link yet. Very creative and sounds like fun.
Now if only EA will allow me to download my Madden season game to my GBA and take it on the road with me only to upload it later...
The automated garage is more expensive monthly than the regular lots. I live right down the road. They even recently cut there prices to try and fill up the garage.
Of course if you compare equivaliently outfitted Models of the Honda Hybrid, the price difference is closer to 3k. At least last time I checked it was.
I think this is because of MS' policy that all online games have to go through XBox Live. EA probably wants to eventually establish its own pay-for-play online system (currently Madden is free). If they go through MS, then they can't do this.
Also, I wouldn't be surprised if eventually EA wants to allow play between different consoles (GC and PS2) online.
I have a roomba. I live in an apartment with a thin carpet and a tile kitchen. Works great for us. I usually just start it up before I go to work and let it do its work while I am out.
Have they ever announced how much xbox live will cost after the first year? I know you get a year free with the $50 starter kit (which is a heck of a deal), but how much after that?
Actually, I think the display rotates 90 degrees. So it works just as well for lefties
I saw it shortly after it was posted and still got the order cancelled.

I'd worry more about the power drain of the disc drive than the processor.

I knew there was a link somewhere

5.8 mill in north america for XBox.
4.6 mill in north america for the GC.
I am pretty sure they have similar numbers shipped worldwide, but the XBox is outselling the GC in North America by a decent margin.
Actually it says that $199 was probably a break-even point.

Well according to the original poster, this board is 12cm X 12cm which is 144cm^2. can't get to the article at the moment.

Well I own a PS2 and a GC. I bought the PS2 version due to the Online capabilities that are abset in the GC version.
With YellowDog, wifi worked 'right out of the box'. The only issue I had with it ...
How exactly does it work 'right out of the box' if you had an issue with it?
Of course if you compare equivaliently outfitted Models of the Honda Hybrid, the price difference is closer to 3k. At least last time I checked it was.
Well if you count your Website as a .NET program then I will bet that you have visited a jsp powered site within the last two months.

And international law specifically states that when you increase your territorial waters you cannot gain any "land" claimed by other countries.
Or at least something very similar. Bond and the american agent ride on top of similar wings to get into North Korea.
Actually GC and XBox are pretty much neck and neck worldwide. at least accoring to the latest figures:
t ml
http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/54/31836.h
GC is a dominate #2 in Japan, and XBox is a Dominate #2 in North America.
Why?
