My interpretation of the story has always been based on my own real life experiences. I was a boy scout and have been on many camping trips. I learned that children, boys in particular, without adult supervision will degenerate rapidly into anarchy and chaos.
Instances in which it was just us the boys, when the adults would not be around for whatever reason, even for just a few hours. Bullying, hazing, power-grabbing type behavior does start to occur even in that short a time span. Given a longer period of isolation, it's not at all farfetched that we'd descend to the LOTF levels and start killing each other. That's what immature males do without guidance. It's the whole alpha male thing. Guys all know this, in particular us geeks know this very well!
I think what the original poster meant is that some sort of an authority figure needs to be there for people, in particular in this instance young immature males. Society, religion, parents, whatever. Young boys left to there devices will self destruct on one another.

Fusion is being accomplished, but nowhere near the levels it needs to be, to be any kind of power source.

There already has been an incident where GM corn cross pollinated with a bunch of weeds, in an adjacent field.
Basically the weeds inherited the modified traits from the corn, making themselves just about impossible to get rid of. As the GM corn is obviously much hardier than regular corn.
Actually HHH and Steph are engaged and have been dating for some time. Granted it occured in the storylines at about the same time. That doesn't make untrue as it's been well known in the industry for some time now. These kinds of things do happen. Look at Chris Benoit and Woman, booked as couple ended up getting married. Even the storyline wedding of Randy Savage and Miss Elizabeth back in the 80's had some truth, as they were already married when the storyline played out. Paul and Stephanie got engaged last Valentines day and even have a date announced for the wedding.
One of the problems with the drug, is it's like taking a painkiller and burning yourself with a match. I can't feel the pain, therefore I'm alright, right? Sleep deprivation has been shown to be dangerous for your long term health, offsetting circadian rhythms among other things. The body is repairing itself, as well as other maintenance related tasks when you're asleep. You will need to 'catch up' at some point. Bare in mind that this drug is being used by narcileptics, and for military usage in which they had irregular sleeping patterns to begin with.

Well given that we'll all be gorgeous at least perhaps to the some degree. I doubt that everyone will opt to look exactly the same. But we'll all be on a level playing field now, so traits like kindness and personality will definitely boost your stock. As looks are no longer really relavent, haven't you ever been to a party with a bunch of good looking people? Given that your bound to hook up with someone, and they all look the same, its nice to meet someone that you have something in coommon with, and or just get along with and enjoy their company. Intelligence I suspect as well, will wane in attracting the opposite sex, as I 'm sure we'll have IQ boosters etc too. In my opinion looks are alraedy overrated andbeing plebian, as everyone these days can be beautiful. Given enough money and skilled plastic surgeons, we can already to a degree, manufacture these super-folk who are supposed to make us normals look bad.
