Look at how little has improved in AI's such as ALICE over the past 10 years - given 50 years it may be just as smart as my dog. To think that driods will replace people in the workforce anytime soon is ridiculous at best. However - jobs that require only repetitive movements - like paper filing or automated responce systems could have people removed (some places have the people removed already) But Fast food? You think a machine could make a burger the way you want it? No it couldn't - you need human hands or at least a LOT of human serveilance on such a complex process. Yes there are things out there more complex that robots handle but they do the same thing - where as a burger joint everyone orders something different AND custimizes that. It's too much - maybe in 2200 we will have al those things - but everyone reading this post will be long since DEAD and never see the fruits of your labor.

From the post i'm guessing your NOT trying to become an Arnold Terminator type of geek. You just don't want to be pudgy and I can totally relate. I currently have 2 job - one is a mon-fri 8-5pm job then I work my second from 5:30pm-9pm. This leave very little time for doing things like "joining a gym" unless your willing to pay to only go twice a week - not likely.

What I do is something simple that takes only a few minutes everyday. Before I go to sleep I do the following:

    30 Crunches
    30 Leg lifts
    30 Pushups

Thats it. I am normally skinny and drink a lot of alcohol and have a fast metabolism so the amount of exercise you may have to do is dependant on your body type, but for me this works. It may seem like a rediculously small amount, but I am ONLY trying to stay normal - I am NOT trying to be a model or a hulking mass of muscle - I just want to be thin and look alright when I am at the beach.

    Good luck.

It annoys me that we even linked an MSN article - they are so blatantly geared towards making sure all the ignorant people in the world believe their opinions.

For example they complained in the article about when you search for "flowers" it brings up flower stores, when you search for "apple" it brings up aple computer links.

Who cares - when you look for something you don't use 1 word links - EVERY SEARCH ENGINE WILL TELL YOU TO BE MORE SPECIFIC THAN THAT - it's common sense, that if I want to look up info about a flower I would do a search for "Daisy Lion Information" (or soemthing similar) I would not type in just "Daisy" same goes for if I wanted information on a hardware item. I would type in "Part # review" not just the "part #"

I hate how MSN articles play on the fact that most people will ASSUME that this "Google" search engine is terrible because they can't do accurate searches on non-specific-and-vague request - OOOH shame on Google for not bringing up information about "Hell and Satan" when I type in "Diablo"

I'll tell you. When someone wants to search for something go ahead and use Google (it is the best search engine IMO).

However, when someone wants to get a free email account, have someone host a free webpage for thier hobby, talk to people with similar interests in groups, or IM eachother they will use Yahoo Email, Yahoo Groups, Yahoo-Geocities, or Yahoo Messenger.

Yahoo is more of a community based services provider, where as google is a great search engine. They cater to very different markets. I don't think Yahoo would really care if they were only the number 2 or even 5 best search engine as long as thier community stayed strong.

After getting a little notice from the NwN community I of course started getting spam - however I also started getting these weird emails from people saying they would sue me for sending them spam. I didn't know what was going on until I got 15 bounced emails from yahoo saying my messages were undeliverable. I hadn't sent the message and I had no idea who the recipients were. I contacted XO and they told me "Yeah this happens occasionally there really isn't anything you can do, but we have proof that it's not from you so don't worry about getting sued."

Well I didn't appreciate that responce so I changed hosts I tried icestorm and I tried globalhost it would be fine for awhile then it would start again - the more traffic I got the more of a pain in the ass it became to explain to people that I was sorry for something I wasn't doing.

In the end I just stopped caring, unless I ever get a fast enough connection at home to host the site myself it looks like this is somethign that will just happen. And as an end-user I have no control over the security of the website since it is my hosting companies responsibility to lock there shit down. And everyone I've tried seems to have the same responce "well its easy to fake where email comes from, sorry your shit out of luck in having people confuse you with ass holes"

However, there are exceptions to this. 1 if it is for Educational use and 2 anyone can make a copy of the image as long as it was at least 90% smaller or 110% larger than the original (somewhere around there it had to be smaller or larger basically.)

Therefore it would make sense TO ME that if you are creating thumbnails of a copyrighted work AND linking to the original page or image then that should be allowed, since I would put them in the same category. (images and pictures that is.)
