Been meaning to track down a copy of Daemon.
But another book that is fairly technically accurate is Little Brother by Cory Docotow.
It was a scary read in how plausable the events could happen and play out.
But isn't the order of events impossible according to the article.
Now I haven't looked at limewire, but does it display the hashs before the download?
Even then they talk about comparing the sound waves and say this happens before the files are downloaded.
And then they open a TCP link? I may only be working on my master's in computer science but this is pretty much counter-intuitive to most of my understanding of networking.
If Limewire is displaying the files hash it would be possible for them to search. But then there's the problem that Hash's aren't unique and you could find a collision. I'm not sure how large of a false positive there is but it exists.
And comparing the sound waves there's no way to look in the file before downloading.
So the question is, is this BS being fed by the "anonymous source" or an author who didn't do thier research.
Another option is to pick up a Logitech G15 keyboard. It has a seperate LCD display and has built in ventrillo support.
Not sure if Team Speak is working with it yet. But the LCD will display the server name of the person speaking.
This can be done now.
Why do we need a new service?
Why not just build an uber-client?
So I write a post in this "UC", and it has my log in information for all my journal accounts.
And it will translate between corresponding journal specific tags and post the same post to each account.
An easier example is Livejournal vs Deadjournal.
Both at one point were an almost identical service, (Haven't looked at Deadjournal in a while so don't know how true it is today)
Why stay with livejournal? Because while both have the ability to restrict my journal so only Friends A, B, C can read it. Only Livejournal actually HAS friends A, B, C.
However the game is still competitive in a sense.
The ratings and difficulties.
Yeah I can pass Barbie girl on simple mode.
Well I can get a "AAA" on paranoia with fade and double speed turned on.
While it may not be as competitive. Shyer kids might have a problem with trying to do easy songs while the more experienced kids are going crazy.
Plus ummm how to put this. I as a large out of shape man can only imagine how ridiculous i look when i play the occasional game. I can definately see kids teasing others about how well/poor they do and how they do it.
But of course thats a problem no matter what the activity.
You also run into this problem.
1. Person A (Lvl 70 main) states a PVP opinion.
2. Person B (Lvl 56 alt) "Come back when your not neutral with all the pvp factions. *Gives link*"
Trolls will still exist. becuase Blizzard hasn't taken the one last step it needs to stop a majority of the trolling.
Link characters in the forum or in armor. So I click on a link and it shows all the characters that exist on that account. (not giving the account name)
Well there's also the fact that they are starting up Season 2 next month.
Plus you can still solve the cards for thier own puzzle sake. Some are fun. Some are frustrating.
And earning the points will get you rewards. (when you earn X amount of points you earn a Leitmark. And they actually send you a pin/badge in the mail.)
Its a small reward vs cost but its something.:)
Now correct me if i'm wrong. But the person the questions are going to are a person featured. which means he is in it. But I doubt he has any rights/control over the documentary other then being able to retell his views.
The murloc/beta cards from Blizzcon won't be on ebay anymore.
Blizzard decided to make all the codes expire a few days ago. So the codes are worthless now.
The LFG tool doesn't work like that.
You can "queue" yourself up for 3 different dungeons or quests (types of parties)
but everyone in the proper lvl range and maybe zone will be visable.
I'm in the beta btw.:)
I've done one LFG so far and it was a rather well working group and managed to go through the newest/lowest dungeon with no problems at all.
But shouldn't we take it into account that this second article is not meant to stand alone? It is a direct rebuttal piece to the first.
Article one told about how WoW had become "destructive" for him. It also told how it was "destructive" for others.
Article two was pointing out how it is not "destructive" for Article Two's author.
After re-reading the first article: The other people mentioned are all basically newspaper headline type.
And i'm sure I could probably come up with such a counter example for each line since there is no basis other then stuff the original author heard or "knew" about.
I'm not saying that no kid has ever been forced by thier parent to grind for them. For all I know it has happened.
But there are also parents who have reconnected with thier kids by playing WoW and similar games.
Plus what one "knows" in game is extremely fluid. I've dealt directly with people who have faked thier own deaths in game. I've know people who have started dating (yes in real life) and are now living together because they met through WoW and the guild I am in.
The whole focus of the second article and my replying is that hey yes bad things happen. But so do good things. In this respect it is just like the real world.
Wasn't the original article about WoW wrecking a persons life is only anecdotal?
I can offer my own anecdotal evidence about my personal life.
But both sides of these articles are a moot point unless you attempt to do an professional objective psychological study.
Give some poor Psych grad student his thesis on WOW addiction.

I worked through as a tech for an area school district doing re-installs/reformats of the schools computer systems. After about a month and a half of working with a growing team.
The liason in charge of the project sent out an email tuesday afternoon to pretty much all the techs on the project saying.
"Hi thanks, don't come back tommorow."
What was funny is that her email created an impromptu email bitching list since she left all the emails visable (in the to and cc: fields) So everyone knew everyone else was fired as well. Was 30-40 people fired I believe.

In a group of 3, 1 person makes a mistake that is a 33 1/3% failure rate.
In a group of 30, 1 person makes a mistake that is 3 1/3% failure rate.
So the group of 30 is more successfull.

You do realize that there are drivers out there for the Wiimote?
It isn't 100% (I haven't found numchuck support) but the wiimote itself is useable.

There is a tab that is looking for members. You can search through the groups that are looking for various dungeons/quests.

That and it will allow money to flow out of its system as well as in. So if you "Strike it Rich" in the game, you can take those riches and leave.

Invisible is only going to be worth it if it is an aggrodump/takes you out of combat. Its 20 seconds every 5 minutes....
Wouldn't it be more like,
"Leaving your child with a felon who runs a crack lab, and if the felon gets busted you lose your child and all parenting rights forever"
Since if your character is caught hacking/botting/being power leveled it can get the account banned.
Does IGE have a garuntee in case the charcter is banned?
Because Americans can be pretentious too?
