Ok... So this is just a rehash of the old "Super Game Boy" peripheral that Nintendo released for the SNES back in 94 or 95...
Play my games on a big screen??? W00h00! (Seriously) No more battery draining.
But honestly, why is this big news... They've done it with every console since the SNES. Yes the 64 was capable of doing it as well.... If you don't believe me, Pokemon Stadium was capable of playing the GB Pokemon games through it. And guess what? They looked exactly (borders and all) like the Super Game Boy versions of them!
I'm curious to see what the UI on this looks like... If it's the old Super Game Boy UI, I'm gonna roll all over the floor laughing.
That would be the connectivity of gba to GC... that's just a cable, not a whole peripheral...
But yes, there is a link capability... You just can't play Fusion on your GC... yet.

Or did i help in some way???
I think someone said that by observing an event, you alter the event... Ooops 0_o
So yeah... A little theory I've had recently...
If MMORPG's are nothing more than an "Alternate Reality" (with "The Sims Online" being the most blatant example) where people almost "live" (i say this because we all know how obsessive some people are about this stuff), then how much longer until this new technology and said "Alternate Realities" are merged?
Throw in some special glasses which display a computer screen (already in development/marketing I think), and voila! semi-immersive world...
Thrown in the remaining two senses, an out-of-control AI, solar powered machines that use said AI, mix and stir well... And look what we got...
So how long till I'm a D-Cell?
So will 'ping' now be replaced by 'poke'?
Gives a new meaning to the term 'finger' on IRC and other communication systems
Anyone think Ken Lobb has anything to do with this

Microsoft Buys Rare

Microsoft already has Ken Lobb working in the upper part of the XBox development hierarchy...
If anyone remembers Nintendo's "Killer Instinct" series of fighting games (originally developed to showcase the "Ultra 64" technology (which became the N64))...
I believe Rare worked on this series with Nintendo, Mr. Lobb was also pretty involved with these as well (in addition to Donkey Kong Country, which Rare developed most of the technology for). (If anyone remembers the old promo video that Nintendo sent Nintendo Power subscribers when the series was first coming out) I don't know who owns the rights to the series, but I would put bets on Rare since Nintendo hasn't shown any interest in the series since KI2.
Let's see, figthing games have been fairly popular on PS2 and SSB:M is still popular on GC.
Would it be far fetched to say that MS would be looking to add a second fighting franchise alongside DoA?
It could be possible on the grounds of Ken's experience in the past with Rare.
Now I know why I can't get into http://www.blizzard.com, http://www.battle.net or http://www.ign.com....
I feel the suffering of numerous gamers screaming in frustration at not being able to read about the game....;)
Good ol'/. effect
Actually, they changed the system... They chucked the InterTrust Wallet thingy, made a real site with php and you use your card to get in there and download the music in mp3 rather than the InterTrust proprietary format they had going for a while.
Daft Punk did something similiar almost 1.5 years ago with their album 'Discovery'. People who bought the album got a little credit-card like access card that had a id on it that allowed the buyer access to a special music program that allowed them to download remixes and other content from their website.
Originally the tracks were encrypted or something, so you could only play them in their music player, but around March they converted everything to mp3 and ditched the player in favor of using php as an authentication method for their website.
I thought this was a great idea, since people who bought the albums got a little bit extra in return.
Does this mean the right-winged extremist censors can sue the post office or other "mail carriers" for delivering something like an issue of Playboy....
I think the reasoning on the RIAA is "If you can block the material, block its transportation..."
Anyway, I hope to see this get thrown right back at them. This only proves how desperate they're getting, with the recent study on the decline in cd-sales, the RETROACTIVE royalites for webcasters, and now this.... Give me a break... Give me the music i want to hear, at a price i can AFFORD, and maybe, just maybe I'll buy more cd's than the 2-4 every 6 months.
And that study is right... I can buy two cd's for ~ $30-40, or i can buy something like warcraft III which i know a year from now I'll still be listening to.
And finally... yes the consumer is smarter... we now know how much a cd costs... most times $0.10 for a single cd in a bulk package... That's due to the popularity of burners... So let's see here... Avg. cd costs $17, so that means I'm paying $16.90 for the music, but the musicians say they're not seeing enough of the $$$, so where is the money really going?
I noticed the Quake II shot being referenced as Quake... But for talking about the technology or engines does it really matter?
Jeez... hasn't this been going on for ever?

Read Geeks 2.0: A History of the Internet for a good story about some people almost getting busted while trying to see if the doppler effect could be used to predict the landing of a roulette ball in play...
Actually, i've used my debit card at most places on the internet w/o a hitch.... Works fine at cdnow, amazon, animenation, ebgames, etc. I haven't had a problem at all... So don't say they're worthless.

Not haven watched the series in like two years, and totally forgotten that the end was upon it, this comes as a shock (i didn't even watch it tongiht)....
But then again, didn't Carter make some crack about the fact that nobody ever dies on the show?
But then again, killing off one of the better side characters in the story is surely a good fall by plot twist...
Considering the fact that most software isn't exactly requiring anything higher than 4x again... is anything greater than 32x even necessary...
I have a cheap 48/52/56x (can never seem to figure it out) drive that came out of an emachine i got last year (i needed a cheap 1st pc) that I slapped into my current home-made box... Not sure why, but the thing seems to like to load a lot of data off the cd, spin down for a sec or two, then spin back up and continue loading more... A very annoying pattern indeed... Leading me to question whether its the drive, or if the data is being cached somewhere in my system faster than it can be written to my HD...
Anyways, with larger hard-drives, most games that would use the CD-drive to play stuff like movies and music are now copying those files straight to the hard drive... Essentially the CD-Drive is now being relegated to a massive floppy drive, install and forget!
As for testing max speeds.... I heard some story about down at work (WPI PC Shop) about testing this with a drill motor or something.... Essentially the disc that was tested with pretty much disintegrated if the story is true...
Didn't Final Fantasy: TSW use Times Square as a location? Oh wait a minute... Square's buddybuddy with Sony...
Nevermind then... Guess I'll shut my trap.
Actually.. The Oracle games were for Game Boy Color... But they were released just prior (or at the same time) to the GBA's release.
