I managed to get both a UK () and a US ($) price for the exclusive Darkness EP, and a different listing as well. Clicking on the text link gave me the four track uk version whilst the album picture gave me the 2 track US version.
Fixed now, but I was wondering why I was seeing a 99 in there.
leaving people with a pile of 2-3 year old Nintendo consoles that may never be looked at again. Any ideas on what to do with them???
Keep playing them? Just because there is new hardware doesn't mean the old stuff suddenly stops working. I still play my SNES as much as my Gamecube, and the old Gameboy games still get a good amount of playtime, albeit on the GBA:SP due to backlighting issues.
At least Steve Jobs isn't trying to pretend there wasn't another reason for the delay. In the recent Macworld, he made clear they pissed off a lot of people to fulfill VT's order.
It'll be interesting to see if region coding is enough of an annoyance to get folks to switch to EVD in significant numbers.
Not a chance. The majority of punters, i.e. not/.ers, don't know what region coding is, will never buy a DVD from anywhere but HMV/American equivalent (yes, I'm assuming most people here are in the US or UK) and it will never be a problem. The rest of us (you know, the ones on the cluetrain) will be sure to buy players that are easily deregioned.
Yep, because there is going to be a lot of entertainment to see in something travelling 30000 mph. It's a nice idea, but it would be over faster than Ben and J-Lo.
I would totally disagree. A GOOD network engineer or security bod will, by default, block all ports and them open ones that users need. If you have the need to be using anything other than the basic ports (25, 80, etc) then you get them opened on request. As 99% of people DON'T need anything else open this is the sensible and security conscious way of doing it.
I'm sure a "professional level" ISP would cater to your need for flapping security holes by leaving all ports open by default, if that's what floats your boat.
the only time I was distracted from the story was when Liv Tyler makes her first appearance, accompanied by the whole bright shiny look-at-me aura thing
In other words, like all geeks, it was the "Oooh, shiny" phenomenon.
I still think Microsoft doing this is like Panasonic creating a phone that only accepts calls from other Panasonic phones.
Except Panasonic don't own the network they operate on. They had to (gasp) get a license to make their handsets (and the code therein) compatable with the network service they wished to use.
There is a problem with Metallica now (I'm not talking about music quality, you can argue that amongst yourselves). Since the realease of St Anger there are legal Metallica MP3s available to anyone who bought the album at www.metallicavault.com with the encouragement, from the band, to download, burn and share (Oh, and "kick ass" too, aparently). I think in some ways the band may be trying to atone for their heavy handedness over Napster (or at least win back a few hearts and minds). SInce these are live versions of their album songs, it could be trickier to prove that people sharing were doing something illegal.
The acoustic versions of Four Horsemen and Motorbreath are well worth getting;)
I would like to congratulate you on having shot yourselves in the foot. By denying me the ability to use the web browser of my choice (Opera), limiting what devices I can use your files on (and I'm not getting rid of my $400 iPod) and selling me an item that is less use than the uncrippled CD version but for the same price, you can understand why I will not be using your services. Please return when you have a sensible business plan. PS This was sent using Opera after I had browsed the site - your web developers really should learn to code for people who don't run Javascript.
Actually, it is next to impossible to go down the high street and buy a region free player off the shelf. Independent stores are usually able to de-region players and there are handset or firmware hacks available for most players, but you can't go into a big electrical retailer and expect to come home with a region-free-out-of-the-box player.
Yes, yes I did. I was making an observation that WYSIWYNG editors are, in my opinion, a waste of time and the action to go through a dropdown menu and find the appropriate tag would actually take longer than hand coding the tags in the first place.
Amazing! That's the same RFID as I have on MY luggage.

I had the problem, ripped another album and the problem went away. Very weird one.

Especially when there are excellent specific sites like Suicide Girls that treat the people paying well and have a brilliantly laid out site.
No, I don't subscribe, but if I ever wanted to pay for porn they would be the first to get the cash.

Unless you attached it to your head and used mouse-look in a first-person shooter.
Great, so you take a quick look to the right to check round the corner and then realise you can no longer see the screen.

Fifty metres? My watch can go deeper than that. Why didn't they make it out of the same stuff as my watch, it would be much more effective then.

I thought the MPAA and RIAA had been plugging people's "analogue holes" for some time now.
