Speaking of legacy systems, the University of Minnesota's Library had an electronic lookup system called LUMINA. It has since evolved into it's web page at http://www.lib.umn.edu/. At first, I thought LUMIX was based off that old system instead of a combination of Luis and Mike...
You can blame basic all you want for bad coding habits, and you would be foolish to do so.
Structurally, the flow control of basic (GOTOs and GOSUBS) is a LOT closer to x86 assembly language than any OO language. It's just the way the CPU was made.
If the CPU developers throw away 40 years of chip design, and make an Object Oriented assembly language, then you can spout off about methods and functions being beter than GOTOs and GOSUBS.
Forget it. The last guy that traveled to this timeline couldn't get replacement parts. He started emailing everyone he could get an address for, looking for a new dimensional generator.
The emails seem to have stopped... I think he might have just given up, or he found a pron site.
Stupid engineers! Keep the door chimes away from the stereo! There is no need to integrate them. The parts should be easily modular. It just makes good sense. Besides, who needs to hear "Door Ajar!" at 50db?
Yes, give up the iPod, and give the mugger the headphones too. In fact, hand him a few other other things that he would want, and while he is juggling all of these, take his knife, and run.
Maybe it's because I just left the 18-34 bracket this weekend. I used to watch a lot of TV, but now it's just Simpsons, Futurama, and Enterprise (when it's on).
Of course, there could be another reason: Males 18-34 don't want to see "queer eye for the straight guy".
I've been watching TechTV for about 3 years now, and I can tell you that Leo didn't always interrupt his co-hosts or guests. Only within the last 9-12 months has this started to happen. He used to work VERY well with Patrick Norton.
There is a local public access technology show in my area, and the host on that show NEVER lets his guests finish their sentences. It must just be something about the business.
I'd rather just use your Mac, too. When can you bring it over? There is a catchy new pop song that I want to download from iTunes....
Just my luck... I get the seat next to the guy with the red jumpsuit labeled TERRORIST.
I imagine 2 scenarios for this trojan:
1. It was a file only 28KB in size.
2. It was a file 400MB in size.
If it was #1, what would make you think that it's a valid file?
If it was #2, what did the remaining 399.97MB contain?
Utah. Shit. I'm still in Utah.
It didn't last long.
There already is a show like that... It's called UPN Smackdown.
Do you think it would help me have fewer arguments with your wife?
Ever hear of ZENWORKS? The keyword there is ZEN.
It stands for Zero Effort Network.
That's how simple it can get.

And thanks to Lasik, you can sit as close to the TV as you like!
It seems that modern technology is driven to just say "See, I told you" to the mothers of Generation X.
Is your Mom a Klingon?
Of course not! They learn Binary.
At what point does VM stop meaning Virtual Machine and start meaning Virtual Memory.
Or is it just the Virtual "M"?

Yes, but you have to insert some money....

The average EarthLink user's machine is infested with spyware.
You can guess what the average AOL user's machine has.
I just got back from the Microsoft Security Summit, and now it makes sense. They didn't want me to see this story.
A good solution would be to require a newer TTY terminal that would actually rip out the caller's larynx. Then all TTY users would be legit TTY users.
YES! Finally a way to take the speedbumps as fast as I want!

I must have missed something. Did Pauly Shore make a sequel?
