Palm OS advantages 5. More versalite when it comes to network connections - you can connect the PPC to any network connection you can a palm, my axim x50 supports bluetooth, ir, serial, PPP, ethernet, VPN, ethernet over a desktop pc, and about 4 other connection types right out of the box 7. Compatible with very old PalmOS apps, as far as back to 1998. - PPCs can run CE software from the early 1990s 8. Much faster than PocketPC, it runs well on slower hardware. PPCs can overclock 800mhz which can crunch data faster than any palm, they are the choice for PDAs in the field, if you are talking about responsiveness both devices are probably tied. 11. Palm devices are usually more stylish than PocketPCs. - refuted in his own article, besides this is a personal preference. 14. 4 GB of storage for the Lifedrive model. any PPC can support a 4gb+ microdrive, CF, SD, plus you can use the drive in your camera, mp3player, etc.
I have often thought of what world power I would have been if I had lived in the correct time period, all of us have missed out on several world changing innovations where one person could have 'seized' the moment and been on the bleeding edge of technology quite easily as compared to todays standards. For example the steam engine, IC engine, movies, and airplanes to name a few.
The only front I see changing the world in our lifetimes which you can still be a part of is biotechnology, nanotechnology, or some form of genetic engineering, and perhaps robotics. Even then you will be a miniscule peice of history, as any technology or invention today takes 10s if not 100s or 1000s of people to be of anything substantial, which I think is the real difference in our time.
Back when things were simpler 1 person could actually make a difference and change the world. In our time your lucky to get all of your phone/email/sms/pager/voicemail messages checked before lunch lol. Not to mention everyone has instant access to free porn now, I mean really, what else do we need as human race?
oh the terrible lies! i didn't think game developers had girlfriends, and to further top it off the 'girlfriend' is posting on slashdot, what is this world coming to?;)
About 3 posts ago was info on a.5TB raid for $250, it doesn't get much better than that..

spending over $200 for any video card is just nuts to me, but if you stop and think about the transistor count and sheer power in todays cards the price is justified compared to a motherboard and cpu.
if they bundled a driver which emulated a x86 processor on the GPU and showed up as a normal cpu in Windows or Linux, so then you could run highly optimized vector and matrix math on it they might open a whole new market for these cards in the scientific communities.
Perhaps, but I doubt that 1 sale per day will offset the costs you will incure to set it up properly, maintain it, and get a backup quickly when your network card crashes, or when joe hacker finds a security exploit in the card somewhere.
If you are in college you are probably 18-22? If so then you don't need to eat healthy as you are invincible, just keep with the cheap food. I noticed I needed to eat healthy around 25+, after that eating healthy makes a huge difference.
So exactly what good does having a fingerprint do if you can't check it with some kind of existing database? I highly doubt the local police will let the library use their records, and even if they did the police are not going to have the figerprints of most citizens.
My bet is whoever made this decision has hooks into the fingerprint technology software or hardware which benifits them in some way. Ochams Razor (sp).
Any moron who would tarnish their SWE3 experience by viewing a downloadable version of the movie before seeing in the theatre is a complete idiot. The Lucas empire is based around excellent quality movies, sound, and video. I would pay money not to see the downloadable version first, downloadable movies are pretty much crap, I don't see why hollywood is so up in a tissy over them.
My only wish is Lucas would come out with a WMV-HD version of the movie, I would shell out some doe for that my friend, upwards of $50 easily.
I knew someone would mention volume discount, even so, there is no way your going to get a $100 price point on a $1000 item, the delta there is just far too big. I guess its not nvidias faults if there are actually enough people who pay $1000 for a video card that no games take advantage of;)
So why the hell are we going to pay over $300 for a card when a chip with 10x the performance comes in the next gen consoles which are just around the corner?
ATI and nVidia have been raping the consumers for far too long, how can they get away with selling these to MS and Sony for $100 each then to us for $1000?
The article explains how most of the things are not possible with todays technology, well duh, of course most are not possible, but with future technology who knows. For example the light saber, whats to say we don't invent some way of controlling light particles to stop or change direction in the future? As time goes to infinity everything is possible:)
yes i did;) but i think its a fair statement. I didn't mean just XP, but XP as win32, since XP is about 70-80% of the current windows install base, saying XP is win32 is a fair statement imo. since win32 is 95% of the market it is logical to assume 95% of the software is also win32, i would actually guess its more like 99% since pretty much any good software running on linux or mac is also on win32.
Quit being silly, XP is blowing all other OSes out of the water with marketshare, the fact that 95% of all programs run under XP and no others will keep MS alive for a long time, I couldn't live without them, as many others couldn't.
The simple fact is it costs far more to change platforms than MS charges, and for the 95% who don't care what platform they use they will use MS, how can anything go up against a billion dollar advertising campaign? MS will be around for quite a while, learn to live with it, news and articles such as this grow tiring...
they said the same about the movie industry 10 or even 20 years ago, and its still going, oh wait, it must be only because of the new resolution change to HDTV;)
my fav quote "I suspect that the next generation of machines will be the last--or at least the last in the current boom market" wow, what a load.
his kids probably only play consol fps games so he only sees lmao consol games, pc gaming is more varied. of course there are only a few 'genres' of gaming, just like in anything else. how many types of books are there? did people stop writing books 5000 years ago after the 6 genres of writing were discovered?
and to top it off there are way more than 1 iteration left in resolution increases, i can see 5-10 iterations left in screen projected resolution, 2-5 iterations in sound technology, and then there is the whole field of VR which could go on forever, that is at least 20 years of continuing resolution increasing just with the eyeballs, then we move into the wire to the brain where who knows what is possible... this is the eve of gaming, not the end:)
Ok, so you'll get sued and shut out for mentioning the bad sites, if you can't tell us who the bad sites are then at least mention the good sites.
Also this doesn't surprise me at all, any media source as big as review sites will come under PR pressure, all other media has gotten through it, as should online media.
Probably by accident you are basing your decision not to play these types of games on 2 of the worst games in the genre. Try EQ2 or AC2 (my fav of all time but aging) or WoW, they are all better in so many ways its ridiculous, Lineage2 got some very bad reviews, I think Avault rated it like 3/10 which it deserves, it was a piece of crap, I don't know what the Chinese are thinking for playing it so much, I was laughing playing it because it was so terrible.
I think I got trolled because of my first sentance, I think anyone who actually read the interview would agree with us, especially the crowd that frequents/.
Did anyone else waste 10 seconds of their life and read that sorry misuse of internet bandwidth? I was expecting at least one good question or answer, Heather reads like a 10 year old girl, GameSpy shouldn't of posted that tripe.

both will have some great games
