I've been asked for I.D. at a bar (I'm 32) by a couple of plain-clothes cops. I asked them to please produce some I.D. first, kept it very professional, and for some reason they just walked off and harassed someone else.
But I tried this in another circumstance with uniformed officers, in a more hairy situation, and they both whipped out their wallets then politely asked me to come downtown with them.
If it's a somewhat clear case, of course they'll go along and make sure the court case is clean and healthy. If they're just being assholes, they have to consider the followup in court.
How about Shrek 2 (the movie, not the game)? Man, some of those faces freaked me out. At least an ogre and a donkey were there to balance out the creepy human-looking characters...
Keep in mind that almost all trailer soundtracks are borrowed or bought from other sources, hence what you hear now will most definately not appear in the film. This is how it works; while the film is being finalized, the promo department cranking out the trailers is licensing music from an existing library whilst the main composer is still writing the soundtrack. Some of my favorite trailers use Skinny Puppy and Front Line Assembly, yet this has nothing to do with what the motion picture composer puts into the final film.
Dick Rutan also flew the Voyager with Yeager's daughter, very cool. I think the Rutan family will be a big part of our aeronautical history for the next 20 years.
The best (rough, from memory) quote from Dick: "My brother told me the Voyager would fly within the specs he told me. After we landed, he mentioned that I, nor anyone else, questioned his specs or asked him to prove his formulas mathematically. I just trusted what he said."
kudos to the FAA for allowing (non-government) companies to persue their dreams. I may be naive, but god damn I have some respect for this governing body right now. Fly, little man, fly!
The real issue here isn't insider information. It seems to be in my opinion trade secret.
I'm sorry, you are correct. This is a trade secret issue. If Air Canada can cough up the paperwork saying he was only allowed to use his insider information to book his own tickets and absolutely nothing else, then it's an open-shut case. If not, then it'll be interesting to see how WestJet's lawyers defend this dude.
"Using that confidential information, WestJet adjusted its own schedule, planned its expansion into new routes and adopted pricing strategies to force its larger competitor out of certain markets, Air Canada alleges."
This is an insider-information case, and he should get what's coming to him. Pure and simple. He abused a quirk, he and WestJet really don't have a strong case here.
Yeah, because Intel's new chips really speed up your internet downloads...

Well, being a left-hander, I do things a bit differently. I was raised with the mouse in the right hand, and that's the only way I can use it (I feel wierd using a left-handed mouse). Several years ago I got a Wacom tablet, which is a natural fit for my left hand. So now I find myself always having the mouse in the right hand, and the Wacom pen in the left, dropping both to use the keyboard, of course. It's so natural, everything flows. Mouse scroll-wheel to go through web pages, pen to quickly click on things or get down to business in Photoshop. Not sure about this new approach, I'll probably stick to what I've got. Maybe it's different for all you right-handed freaks out there. heh heh
SCO's stock closed at 7.77 today. If it stays below 8 for a while (I think 60 days, not sure), they lose a shit-load of funding. C'mon, let's keep that stock below 8...
This is dead on. I work in marketing/advertising, and the number one rule is... "any publicity is good publicity" This is how things work. Ruprechtjones is a Courtney-Love-slapping-psychopath. Pass it on, I need a good agent.
"Considering gamers still use the words 'fag', 'gay' and 'homo' in order to insult each other online..."
While true, I think (at least in the big city, not so much in rural areas) that most homosexuals get these innuendos and ride with them. I've played alongside several, okay two homosexuals in a bout of Halo and there was no issue with me or the other heteros or even themselves yelling "get off my Warthog, faggot!"
The only time that there is a sensitivity is usually when somebody is just coming out of the closet and is still in that self-identity mode, trying to figure out how all this works. And I hate dealing with fresh closet cases, they are wayyyy more emotionally messed up than the two married dudes in the corner.
Well, to avoid a robot-car gap, I have to turned to my driveway to see what I can do. Mini Cooper r50, prepare to meet '82 Dodge Colt RS! And mine has a sun-roof...

Yet maybe he is right. I don't agree with the whole ending Iraq stuff at the end of his post, but everything else is right on. If you ever did time for something stupid that you did, yet you learned way more within a jail cell about how to do crime "successfully" (i.e. good methods to get away with shit), you would understand his post.
Not all of us have taken the straight and level path, yet I never learned about true methods of crime until I was within a jail cell. Spend a month (that's thirty days of hell, let me repeat thirty days of expaining to your boss why you can't show up for work) in lockup, and you'll not only learn a lot about the other side, you'll also learn a lot about that little thing that you thought was no big deal yet landed you in this situation. Troll? Yeah, a troll from jail who has experienced the misery of lockup hell. It sucks, don't try this at home. It will jade you for life.
This goes both ways.

"would do better NOT to be making these movies every event..."
shhhhhh, then I'd be out of a job! How else can I afford my PS2 and all these games?
It is still my opinion that foodnetwork.com (the good ol' food channel) will be the first to introduce smellable websites, or at least plug-ins.
we'll see.

Your grammar astounds and inspires me.

Nitpick: Jenna Yeager (Voyager) is NO relation to Chuck.
You are correct. I wasn't sure, since my source was the History Channel. Here is more (corect) info.
Yeager, who is no relation to the famous test pilot Chuck Yeager, first met Dick Rutan, and his brother Burt, at a California air show in 1980.
Dick Rutan also flew the Voyager with Yeager's daughter, very cool. I think the Rutan family will be a big part of our aeronautical history for the next 20 years.

Hmm, just went upstairs and checked my own microwave for cash. Nothing. Maybe I should get my dimwitted roomates to start reading Slashdot.

Yup, this is advertising. Genius, but still just a Mini plug. Check the whois then google the parent company.

Yeah right, there's no such thing as a two dollar bill. Taco Bell helped disprove this silly statement of yours.

"Besides who would go to Comcast World?"
Maybe the same people who go to 3Com Stadium, or Safeco Field, or Busch Seaworld, or...
Wonderful. Now the Bipolar Paranoid Schizophrenic has editing power.
