Yes I work in the games industry, so there is your disclaimer. But having a grey-haired accountant as the spokesman of your games division really says a lot about how much you take your customers and your own division seriously. This guy is actually not bad to work with and I have recommended in the past that he go after a broadcast career, but I simply do not see how he appeals to anyone under 46 or how he can be the front voice of one third of this industry. Even Chris Paladino (might have spelled that wrong) is clearly a better choice, at least you can see his passion in his videos. You want to give the hardcore players someone they will listen to, not give the Microsoft middle-managers someone they love. There is a huge difference there. I have no clue if Sony or Nintendo have an equivelent to this guy, but when I think games, I don't think of a middle-aged white guy. /end rant.

I've scored two long-term job contracts. I've made two new female friends (no w4m stuff, don't trust it). Sold my keyboard, and my Mac laptop, bought 120 DVDs, bought a freezer, sold my Gameboy SP, and made new friends in West Seattle. Bought an Aerostar van, hooked up with a new film agency, and argued with people in L.A. about the film industry in general.

This review told me "After all these years, Pohl brings the same formula to the table." I wanted to hear about this, and I'm going to buy the book. The reviewer was honest, not gushing like a little fan-boi. Kudos to him for attempting to review someone as odd as Pohl in the first place.

That's it in a nutshell. Theaters make zero money from ticket sales, and their entire profit margin comes from consession sales. With this program, that door charge is all profit.

This is how the big chains work, but the smaller theaters are either owned by the big chains and run older movies (at near 100% profit on ticket sales) once the initial release schedule is expired at the big chain, or they are independent theaters that run alternative/older movies.
