  3. Oh back in the day on AMD Bulldozer Will Bring Socket Shift To PCs · · Score: 1

Back in the day when I had the time and money to upgrade constantly these socket changes were a major inconvenience and expense. Now I don't upgrade much I just wait until I feel it's time and replace the whole thing. By then not only is there a new socket required, but new memory, new video card with a new DirectX, etc.

  4. Go visit KSC on NASA To Delay Endeavour By 10 Days · · Score: 1

Wow bummer. I was just there last week to see her sitting on the Launch Pad. Even though the hotel I was staying at was over 40 miles away they have been booked for months. Everyone should get to KSC and see the space shuttle on the launch pad before the last one goes up. They are already taking apart one of the 2 shuttle launch pads :-(

  10. One Ring To Rule Them All on Europe's Galileo Program In Serious Trouble · · Score: 1

This is a classic case of "too many cooks in the Kitchen"

I suppose I can understand their not wanting to have a completely US controlled system. However to not have one true master over the project can often lead to trouble. This is what has crippled the Airbus 380 project. This will be a problem far into the future for any EU project.

  11. The Elephant In The Room on Digg.com Attempts To Suppress HD-DVD Revolt · · Score: 3, Insightful

Digg is trying to suppress information that is painted across the internet and can be found by a 3 year old with a simple Google search. I really have no idea what they hope to gain by this. Even if this is because they have HD-DVD ads on their site or they were contacted by a legal entity trying to remove the links all they have done is drawn more attention to it. So Digg has ruined their credibility and further publicized the key..... wow. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elephant_in_the_room

  12. AGP? on HDMI-Enabled Graphics Cards Debut · · Score: 1

Both the standard ATI and NVIDIA version of these cards come in AGP. I am assuming these are PCI Express only. However, my HTPC is a P4 2.8C with 1GB of memory. This is actually still plenty for a home theater computer. Adding a HDMI card would extend the life of this computer for a couple more years at least.
