Back in the day when I had the time and money to upgrade constantly these socket changes were a major inconvenience and expense.
Now I don't upgrade much I just wait until I feel it's time and replace the whole thing. By then not only is there a new socket required, but new memory, new video card with a new DirectX, etc.
Wow bummer. I was just there last week to see her sitting on the Launch Pad. Even though the hotel I was staying at was over 40 miles away they have been booked for months.
Everyone should get to KSC and see the space shuttle on the launch pad before the last one goes up. They are already taking apart one of the 2 shuttle launch pads:-(
This is a classic case of "too many cooks in the Kitchen"
I suppose I can understand their not wanting to have a completely US controlled system. However to not have one true master over the project can often lead to trouble. This is what has crippled the Airbus 380 project. This will be a problem far into the future for any EU project.
Digg is trying to suppress information that is painted across the internet and can be found by a 3 year old with a simple Google search.
I really have no idea what they hope to gain by this. Even if this is because they have HD-DVD ads on their site or they were contacted by a legal entity trying to remove the links all they have done is drawn more attention to it.
So Digg has ruined their credibility and further publicized the key..... wow.

Both the standard ATI and NVIDIA version of these cards come in AGP. I am assuming these are PCI Express only. However, my HTPC is a P4 2.8C with 1GB of memory. This is actually still plenty for a home theater computer. Adding a HDMI card would extend the life of this computer for a couple more years at least.
"Never thought I would hear someone equate any Toyota with 'an old-persons car.' Buick and Pontiac maybe, but any Toyota? To me a Camry is just reliable no frills transportation."
Hmmm.... reliable and no frills. Sounds like old people to me.:-)
Go out and make your own content for YouTube, yah lazy bastards!
For YouTube to stay relevant it needs original content, not the same network crap regurgitated into a web browser.
It's less competitive pricing and more "bait and switch". They are sold out of what you want, but since you are here why not look at all our other crap.
In a related note: God of War is a cheap "Greatest Hits" Game now.
I picked it up last week with Devil May Cry 3 for $15 each.
This is the kind of progress I like to see.
It's a shame that they are using the X1600. It's one of the worst video cards of this generation. The iMacs would be better served with a 1800XL/XT or 7800GT/GTX.
Now you can order a Dell at work and actually be proud of it. This may be a tiny bit easier to sneak past accounting because it has the Dell logo on it. However when they see the price tag that might change. Don't forget to add one of those new Dell 30" monitors.
Great I just put a Firefox link on my webpage and I'm supposed to get a dollar from Google for everyone who clicks on it and downloads Firefox. Not that I have made any money yet, but someday I could get that dollar. Now that day may never happen:-(
The good folks at [H]ardocp.com just sent Child's Play a $20,000 check from a recent computer raffle. $10 was mine I hope I win the computer:-) http://www.hardocp.com/
The GTX 256's perform at or near the X1800XT's (looking at the linked benchmarks). These cards will cost you at least $400 less for a pair, use a single slot design, run cooler and quieter.

Am I the only one still shocked that analog is pulling in this kind of cash?

http://www.brightsideofnews.com/news/2011/1/10/coup-at-amd-dirk-meyer-pushed-out.aspx It seems that that the selling off of their mobile business and the success of Tegra is behind this.
Wait for the Misc. expansion.
That would explain why every 90 minutes or so "ISS" pops up on my available networks and then promptly disappears.
zipzoomfly.com used to be called "googlegear" before Google forced them to change their name.
Either way it's still one of the best sites to buy computer parts from.
Just a little piece of web history.

Less jobs = less job cuts. If you cut off 8 fingers, the next round of cuts will be significantly less.
Tech Forum Watch has a good round up of the recent launches including the GTO, Quad SLI & Notebook SLI.
