first of all i said what "I" smoke in a day not what "a" smoker smokes in a day, and here i have found what i was looking for here it states:
SIGNS: The toxin in tobacco is nicotine, an alkaloid with an irritating effect on the stomach and intestines and also the nervous system. This toxin is related to the toxins in poison hemlock and lupine. Concerning nicotine concentrations, an average cigarette can contain between 20 and 30 mg, and 120 mg for a cigar. One report indicates that for a human unaccustomed to tobacco, 4 mg can cause clinical signs, and 60 mg at one time can cause death.
therefore a non smoker chain smoking for an hour, (roughly 6 cigarettes (more if "hot boxing")) could die from poisoning.
You mentioned smoking. Nicotine is highly addictive but pretty much harmless itself. The delivery system, on the other hand, is quite destructive
Nicotine is not that harmless, did you know if a non smoker smoked as much as I did in a day, they would die. In fact, correct me if I am wrong, (and I am sure you will) but i belive either the marines or the seals carry whats called "nic sticks" which is a stick with a needle on the end carrying nothing but pure nicotine used to kill sharks instantly upon attack. the thing is, yes we take it in shuch small doses, that we really don't see the effect manifest quickly, but make no mistake nicotine is a horrible substance.
Well I got to leave work early, to go home, after hearing on the radio that all hell broke loose, and they have no idea when or how the power was going to come back on,I make it home. I love the fact that our electricty is generated by our own plant, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. Everyone else was dark, but we had power the whole time. Hydro-Electric woot!
what do they have there that is so great
Cheap Plastic Crap, and I love every minute of it, I need an alarm clock, or some other little widget of some kind, and it is 11 pm its the only place that is open that has a little bit of everything, and most of it being, chep plastic crap, which is just what I need:)
This is very nice software, we use it at work, runs off of a floppy which you can burn to iso, it will test every component piece by piece, it has found bad hard drives, ram, and video cards many times. Also from the same company you can get a POST card, great for when you can't tell what part of the motherboard failed. oh their url is http://www.uxd.com/qtpro.shtml
Samsonite makes a leather satchel/overnight bag, which works great, the over night part collapses, it has room for everything, even comes with three file sleeves. i would recommend. I bought this when i started recording live stuff. it has room for my external burner, cd's wireless mic, headphones, laptop, wires and loads of other stuff. Plus the bag has sping loaded, metal clips on the leather strap, very durable.
Wow, are you the con decending won, i realy wish that eye could have the a bill a tea to come down on some ones mis takes instaed fo trying to strike up some fundly converseation.

My frist printer was a Thinkjet serial connection it was the equiv of a 9 pin dot matrix, but, it was one of the first, or the first, ink cartridge based printer. It was very impressive, it had a footprint of a sheet of paper, and it was really, quiet, for the time, all you heard was the servo motors going feeding the paper, and moving the print head back and fouth. we got it in 1984, and it still works to this day.
yup, i'll tell you, it had lost of games though, and HP PAM (Personal Application manager) really my first computer was a apple//c. nothing like plaing path tatics on a green screen.
My fist pc was back in 1989, I know, not too old to some of you, it was a HP Vectra ES-12, 12Mhz 286/w 640k of ram, and a 40MB IDE hard drive, VGA graphics. I'll tell you it was neat to see that they used IDE instead of MFM. We eventually bumped it up to 4 meg of ram, and added a 1x cd-r and 80 meg hard drive. That computer took forever to boot, to count all the way up to 4096 bytes of ram. and windows 2.11.
well, I acctuly paid $15 for a winamp 3 mp3 ripper, and I found it was worth it, it write the mp3's quickly, and it labels them off of the freedb server the way I want. each cd in it's own directory, mp3's labled artist - song title. So for me (and I haven't used i-Tunes) the $15 dollars was worth it, compared to my other options where I had to label every mp3 myself, it was totaly worth the money.

Welll the ford focus has a few things going for it, its big, but not that big, it is quick, and it doesn't cost too much (well under $25,000) and really it doesn't look that bad, I know in europe you have lots of small cars,a nd this vehicle looks like a big one, but here in the states, this car is small, and has some pick up to it. Also, marketing, frankly I would never own a ford, myself.
So the biologist, Philosopher and Mathematician are sitting on the front porch. Across the street they see 2 people enter the house, and 5 minutes later they saw 3 people leave. The Biologist says, "Well maybe they procreated." Then the philosopher said, "Well the third guy could have already been in there. Then, the mathematician said, "Well if one more person goes in there it will be empty"
So an electrical engineer, chemist and M$ Engineer are in a car in the desert and it stops. The electrical enginner says, hey there might be a short somewhere, we should check all the circuits, the Chemist, says maybe there's a fuel problem, and the MS enginner says, hey what if we close all the windows and try to restart?
Being an ex-electrician, Cable is worth alot less if it is not stripped to bare copper, when it is at bare copper you can sell it at market price, when it is not you like about 25% of market valuse due to the fact they have to strip the wire themselves. But i am sure wire removal companys strip it, and get the money out of it, for around $1 a pound for "trash" its worth it.
yea it is just a little battery, like the bios battery. its hard to say that it does anything. Frankly, if they want to watch you I think they can, and there isn't much you can do about it so why worry about it. but that is just me.
see the thing is, you can take the battery out, but have you ever noticed that if you take the battery out, the phone still remembers your numbers?? thats becuse there is a Li-Ion battery inside of it. tear yours apart and you'll see it:)
My power bill is on the order of $50/month CDN, and afaik BC Hydro has some of the cheaper rates going
Thats like $10 bucks US, JK but actually $50 canadian is $37.7053 USD and if he lives in a studio it wouldn't be uncommon to pay less, I live in a city with subsidized power, in a two story house, and electricity is like $25 USD / month. so I could see a studio apartment in which he seems to care about his bill and conserve electricty being that cheap... because apartment complexes usualy subsidze also.
Are you saying that I have to hook up my lemonade stand to the IntraWeb now?
Well, if you are running a front yard lemonade stand, then no. If you plan on doing business then you would want cash registers, even better, ones that interfaced to a database somewhere to help with tracking and inventory... Sure you could run a business with no technology, but what he is stating is that computer programs (read: financial and office suites) save lost time in writing ledgers, manual calculations or running to kinkos to make a fliers and other business propaganda. So you do not necessarily (sp?) need to have a rack mount server and a web presence, it would still be a good idea to have a pc with app's pertinent to your business

the problem is, it is only non conductive if you have no impurities in the water what-so-ever.

I figured you would be able to tell it was from office space. I thought it as a pretty well known quote. When tom had a meeting with the "Bobs"
Bob: So you physicaly take the reports from the customers ?
Tom: Well, My secretary does... or they FAX them.
Bob: So you physicaly take the reports from the engineers ?
Tom: Well, no.
Bob: So what exectly do you say that you do here?
Tom: I told you I take the God D**n Reports to the God D**n engineers. I HAVE PEOPLE SKILLS, CAN'T YOU SEE THAT!?! WHATS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE!?!
They already tried that, it was called XFL
