I had medianet unlimited. and I got hit with a $600 bill after the first months use. Cingular's reasoning was that Media Net wasn't compatible with the Treo. Went to the local Cingular box shop where I bought it and the plan and they straightend it out for me. But i had to go with the unlimited PDA connect plan after that. Cingular never got thier plans right for this device before selling it. Now if they would only catch up to the other carriers with regards to the firmware updates.
"Maybe instead of contributing to your home town you could grow up out of the 1920's and started contributing to society as a whole?"
Dont forget that the majority of food this country consumes comes out of those little home towns and the communities that surround them. Thats a damn fine contribution to society as a whole I think.
Dell tech support for business customers has been moved back to the states. last 5 calls i've had to them have been solved promptly and without hassle. All were basic hardware failures.
As for HP support, it's only good if you do enough business with them that they place CE's on site. Otherwise it's the same crap as Dell for desktops. Now their non-intel support is great, almost as good as IBM. Proliant support has been great also.
for about 3 years we played 2 SW RPG campaigns under the old wes end rules. My buddy Steve ran the rebels game in which I played a good old style "Han shoots first" smuggler. I ran the Imperial game where he played a Dark Jedi that was constantly on the run from or working with the empire.
The 2 campaigns rarely crossed but when they did it was fun.
But it pointed out that it's more the GM and the players than the game system.
No I won't read your story. I can care less what the Bushes do. Really. I don't care what they do or have done. Their lives are unimportant to me. In 4 years people will be digging up dirt on Kerry, just like they dug up dirt on Clinton, Bush Sr., Reagan, etc...
It never ends.
My original point to your other sig was that. You can't blame people for the sins of their relatives.
Would you like to be ostracized because of your father-raping, pig-fucking, child-molesting second cousin?
The problem I have with providing assistance to the working poor is that it doesn't really help the working poor, but gives more money to the insurance companies. (backhanded corporate welfare?)
It just abrogates the problem.
What needs to be done, and I'm not advocating nationalized healthcare, is do something to stop the corroboration/collusion between the AMA, Drug companies and Insurance companies. This system is price fixing at its worse.
The AMA artificially sets limits on how many people can enter medical programs per year. This isn't a quality issue, it's a means of keeping the medical professionals salary high.
Drug companies do great research but they also collude with the physicians to push whatever they are making. I've sat in on enough free lunches by drug company reps to see what's going on. Many doctors have been turned into shills for the drug companies.
Medical insurance is a perpetual motion machine that needs a big stick put in it. They at times dictate to the doctors what can be done or what drugs they approve. Average people cant get good care without it, and when they do get care they are limited to what their plan covers.
Solutions? I don't know other than tearing the whole world down and starting again.
No you're not the only one. I dropped out of college the first semester of my second year, wasn't for me. Kicked around the country, learned "how to work" Rekindled my interes in electronic and computers and successfuly landed a job 10 years later making 70k plus that i've held for 5 years.
I'm 37 years old and believe this happens all the time.
"It won't be fixed until the "majority", that is, white people, apologize collectively and sincerely, and blacks admit that harping on it isn't going to get them that apology. The healing must begin somewhere"
White people don't have to collectivly apologize. Those white people that did the harm are dead. Black people don't need to wait for an apology before they can proceed forward with life.
"The point isn't who is responsible. We are collectively responsible, blacks and whites. Our situation is such that the harder whites refuse to acknowledge the pain of blacks, the more blacks demand it. As you can see, this problem is bringing our whole country down."
Tell me what "pain of blacks"? I'm black, and would like to know what pain there is. Most of the black people I know aren't feeling any more pain than white people. That is if you don't count the "pain" of a mortgage payment. Or the "pain" of trying to provide for their families. They like me have bought into the American dream. The dream that a person can pick himself up and achieve their goals. The dream that they are making a better life for their children and community.
No one has to accept responsibility for what happened in the past. If we keep trying to lay blame, we will stay stuck in the past. That will cause us to keep spiraling downward. The groundwork for blacks to succeed was laid when they were freed. Some chose to stay in their homes, close to their former masters. Others struck out and migrated to the cities and west. They did just what their white counterparts did at the time. Sure there was racism and roadblocks to progress, but there were roadblocks for every minority in this country. Irish, Catholics, Asians and others faced some form of barrier to progress because of what they were.
Sometime after the civil rights movement some black people lost hope for some reason. Their forefathers fought for the right to vote, right for good education, right to live and work where they wanted. Collectively as a race, or should I say faction in America, they have thrown it away and put the blame for their troubles, burdens and predicament on Whitey. Ironically they look for Whitey in government to save them from the same problems. This is not unlike the slavery their ancestors endured. Looking to the slave owners for everything.
If there are black people being treated like animals, it's their own fault. I have never been treated as an animal. neither have my siblings, my mother, my grandparents or their parents, parents after they were freed.
And before you say I'm one of those sheltered suburbanite blacks, I grew up in Los Angeles, specifically in Pomona, Ca, surrounded by Crips, Bloods and Cholo's. Surrounded by drug dealers in school, a shooting every night and police up and down the street when they had time.
People can leave that shit if they want to. All they need is patience, work and opportunity. And if they don't make it, there's no shame there either. Giving up and blaming some other group is a greater shame.
To just put a bounty out on spammers and shoot them in the streets? The cost of the legal fees would be far less than implementing something like this and getting the whole world to buy into it.
Still, if you don't like it, shop at a good honest local computer store (and if thier aren't any in you're area, you've probably got yourself to blame).
First of all you spelled "Their" wrong. Secondly you used the wrong homonym. "There" would have been the correct word.
Lastly and on topic, how am I to blame for not having a "good honest local computer store" in my area? Whether they are honest or crooks is up to them.
I can understand an Austrailian who speaks English with (to my ears) and accent. Same with people from GB (except some scots i know) I understand Asians (japanese, korean, singnapore) who are just learning english with little problem. But many people from the middle east and india I cannot understand unless they slow their speach down considerably. But At 2 am with the servers in a datacenter roaring in my ears, I don't want to talk to them. the conversation is like 2 old deaf people talking to each other: "What" "Repeat that" "slow down"
I'm starting to wonder where you people come from. 40 tabs open? Gee at the worst I may get 4 at a time. Whats so hard about restarting a browser anyway. and what kind stuff are you doing to your computer that you have to reformat every month?
you have to be very careful, especially when dealing with personal PC's. heres some things that I've picked up from working as a service technician and from customers that are in other service fields.
These are mostly to save your reputation and avoid legal hassles.
1) Have a set of guidelines on how you will do business and do not waiver. Make sure your customers know these. 2) Legal software. Do not run any software you do not have the license to on your business computers. The purchase of these can be expensed. If you get audited you won't have a problem. 3) Legal software. Do not install/reinstall any software the customer does not have the license to. You can determine for yourself what constitutes proof. 4) Privacy. Resist the temptation to view any data that you have access to without the permission of the client. There's many factors in this especially if you deal with Physicians or Lawyers. 5) Illegal Activity. Report it. I only experienced this once (another tech discovered it) but it left an impression on me. Some dumbass brought his PC in. Wanted a bigger HDD/data trasfer. Kiddy porn was found (see point 4). Police were called. FBI interviewed us all. Lawsuits threatened.
I'm sure there are others but all in all, your business provides bread for your table. You don't want to jeapordize it in anyway.

And if it doesn't arrive within our lifetime, you probably won't need that left nut anyway.
so you're saying you change jobs a lot due to being fired for security violations?
try getting your negatives.
Seriously
If you ever get married or have been married and hired a professional Photog. try getting your negatives.
It's not going to happen without coughing up some serious bux.
So she is not/never been seen with an orangutan?

Who is leeching off of whom?
I've owned 5, currently own one. Will probably buy another someday.
Never had any problems not explained by normal wear and tear.
I see nothing here approaching valid or interesting.
you sure were long-winded in replying for it to be not valid or not interesting.

That went out with the Code of Hammarabi.
George W. Bush's brother was on 20/20 [go.com] talking about his prostitutes. Family values?
not a bush fan or a politics fan but...
Should I hold you responsible for anything a family member of yours does?
If your brother fucks goats, should I think you are a goat fucker as well?
If your mom puts it out for anyone with a $10 bill, Should I think I can get a hummer from you cheaper?
If your 3rd cousin twice removed owns the richest company on the planet, should I think you are a financial genius as well?
The CSA wasn't given enough time to prove whether it was a viable solution.
because it got invaded soon after it's inception.

I beleive that you will be shocked.
Hate to spoil it for you but Luke will sound just as whiney/gay in English as he did in French.
Now i must scrub my mind of "Toshe station to pick up some power converters."

There is a 100% death rate on this planet.

you must like thieves.
thieves should be arrested and spend time in jail.
or better yet cut their hands off.
