You sound like a perfect candidate for CLIT, so you will have all rights, entitlements, and priveleges thereof to post at will, in the name of banishing the skidmark of AC's from the underpants of Slashdot.

And no Goase.cx was harmed in the typing of this post.

    Thanks for your interest!

Ahh yes, the obligatory "Linux Can Solve The Internet's Problems" post.

The vulnerabilities the article is dealing with has nothing to do with technical "backdoors" or any of that nonsense. It's about people simply taking sensitive information out of the computers on their own desks, not hacking vulnerable NT servers.

Read the fucking article first, and mods, stop modding up every "Linus Can Fix This" post, because people were stealing company info long before there was such thing as windows.

"Why are all the IT companies suddenly interested in open standards with web services?"

Easy, so that lazy webmasters don't have to (do their job) make sure the servers they maintain conform to any kind of recognized standards.

Lack of dedication can now be explained away with the 'open standards' argument.

  14. "Open" = GOOD on Dog Bites Website · · Score: -1
In order to sound trendy and progressive, all one has to do is put the word "open" in front of whatever project they're whoring, and the Slashdot robots will automatically believe it is something revolutionary and worthy of note.

Bill Gates should rename his OS Open-Windows and that would make it all better. But then the majority of the Slashdot community would no longer have any purpose in life.
