Speaking for myself, the OS itself and how it works was fine - and I really did like the hardware (I wanted to take good pictures of my cats, and the phone absolutely delivered in that respect). However, it felt like initial support for software in general - including the OS - was really poor. As for applications, there were a few gems, but most of the stuff I used regularly felt clunky and half-baked, and I definitely had the impression that development resources applied to them was weak (I'm talking about things that should have good resources available to them; facebook, eBay, Amazon, etc).
My phone is my "main PC" currently, because what I do daily doesn't afford much time to use anything other than an easily accessed pocket terminal - and in that regard, the package failed me.
"to cleanly jettison the waste into mercury or the sun."
I've always thought that to be a good idea (I prefer the sun though, why pollute Mercury?) as long as we never lose a launch vehicle while it's still inside the atmosphere...
And no, I'm not really *that* paranoid, but it is a very real possibility.
Naw, it's not because of any of the reasons you listed (death threats, stalkers, being employed by the IRS itself) - it's probably because the OP *is the guy* that did it.
It's like when someone tells an embarrassing story that happened to an unnamed "friend" of theirs that you've never met.. To me, THAT would be the most obvious reason for posting anon.
Perhaps the secret behind the wiki mentality is that once there are 1000 monkeys behind 1000 keyboards editing 1000 wiki entries, eventually one of them will end up being useful and correct...?
It's in reference to Turrican in general, yes, but my main experience with the series was on the Amiga. Thankfully for my pocketbook, I didn't have the same gaming experience as your buddy, heh. One of the best things about that game was the soundtrack (the Chris Hülsbeck ones at least.)
A couple of places with more recent stuff, including an available Turrican style game with level editor, and a multi-emulator in the works:
Perhaps, but that's assuming that vouchers aren't being kept track of on a central box - which is highly unlikely.
So, again, even if the machine shoots our a voucher, your win would likely not be redeemable since as soon as you went to another machine or the cashier, a flag would go up saying it's a voucher the central system doesn't know about.
Sounds great... BUT since they're all sure to be paying out vouchers (as most machines there are now, a reason I don't play slots anymore) there's no actual cash in the local machine...
So let's say you are successful at plugging in and forcefeeding yourself a win - you surely wouldn't be getting a correctly coded voucher, so you'd never be able to actually collect!
"What good is a man with a stump?"
I can tell you're not a typical slashdotter or you'd already know the answer: 3d printing.

...it still runs Windows Phone.
Trolling? Not really - I had a 920 but got rid of it because of the OS. Now if they'd just offer a version with Symbian...
Experience with IKEA leads me to believe they'll need a tightening every now and then.
why, he didnt do shit except scream like a tyrant
Perhaps he's channeling Steve Jobs.
Obviously, some DO "giveafuck", else it wouldn't have made the front page.
Sorry, we're just grumpy because Europe gets all of the cool cell phones...

Oddly enough, that unscripted statement happens to be *quintessential* G'Kar..

"Where the hell is Turrican?"
I'm right here!
(...see username. Sorry had to be done - karma be damned!)
"What if someone only made available a compiled copy of something? It'd be scary if you can't tell what's really going on with all the stuff."
MIcrosoft is gonna be jazzed! The'll want to go this route when releasing a virtual copy of Windows for use within the SecondLife game...
I've stated for years that when writing out checks for bills and such that it "physically pains me" to do so.
I'll have to show this article to my significant other as scientific proof that I'm not just being dramatic when I say that.
"30. The brain is soft and gelatinous - its consistency is something between jelly and cooked pasta."
Not to jump on the bandwagon late, here - but I'm pretty sure that's NOT something we didn't know last year...
...and it seems that in this thread I'm monkey #4!
I really should read all the child posts first...

Sometimes the stuff in those peppers (on their way out...) makes me want to commit suicide!
Easy! It's an age-old setup:
You: do all the work.
The Boss: doesn't.
(and, btw, he just told me to tell you that you're spending too much time on slashdot...)
Apart from getting some cheap Irish labour, what's the big deal with having a Dublin office? ...Fresh Guinness?
Interesting. Is this some kind of career benefit one accrues with experience or time spent at the company?
Neither. The exposure usually occurs near the beginning, when you're the FNG (f'ing new geek) and are the one sent out on a 7-11 run.
Of course, not having to do this is yet ANOTHER benefit of having snackies on-site.
True, but it always seems to be the nerds that EAT them(!)
