    Agree - it only takes a single fuckup for people to lose control of their data (whether running an application or phishing scam). Though it is a concern that everyone has these accounts linked.

    I havent used a scope in a long time but I loved the HP digital scopes.

    Best User interface i've come across - they had a "Dont Care" button, which was suprisingly useful.

    If a game is good, charge a nominal fee which includes patches, etc and ability to play online. Those who dont want to pay can play the local version (and may get hooked and end up paying)

    f you want an example of a really good film adaption, look at the recent Charlie and the chocolate factory.
    Ah, very funny - you're kidding right? - you are comparing a kids book adapted to a movie, compared to a 1,000+ page epic masterpiece done (quite well) into 3 successful movies.

    Sorry - bad comparison there buddy. Peter Jackson did a great job of getting the feel of the books through - I honestly didnt think it was possible and I dreaded going to the cinemas to see them, but I was pleasantly suprised.

    I built a single board computer in the early 80's which had a clock frequency controlled by a variable RC circuit - it ran at up to 100kHz but you could turn it down to less than a Hz (made learning and debugging simpler).

    I really wish they had this feature in todays PC's so you could adjust how fast you want it to run (and hence how hot the damn thing gets)

    My god - surely any manufacturer that limits their drivers to vista only would be insane.

    Any new OS is going to be slower than the previous one - this is easily tested by dual booting and checking for yourself - this means that unless there is a compelling reason to upgrade, WHY would anyone want to slow themselves down?

    Japan is pretty small, so it wouldnt cost as much to roll a new infrastructure every 5-7 years. Unlike the US or Australia.

    I've heard that penalties for white collar crime were a lot harsher than real life crimes.

    You can beat someone almost to death and take their wallet, and get minimal time, but steal money from a corporation online and expect a much harsher sentence.

    As has happened many times before, What starts as a simple censorship of a website ALWAYS turns into more nastier things while the 'people in charge' are trying to control the masses.

    How stupid are these governments - really. Do they honestly believe that the problems of their country can be solved by stopping someone having a GMail account, or preventing them looking up camel porn on google?

    Iran is in a desperate attempt to return to old school biblical times (great if you are not a woman - "Iran has tough censorship on internet access .... as well as womens rights") and are now clutching at straws - it can only result in resentment from the citizens.

    Yeh, I dont get these price fixing claims - how in the hell do we know how much they spend on researching alone. It must be a fair bit because the size of cheap memory seems to exceed Moores law at the moment.

    When a 1G module costs about $10 I wouldn't be complaining - now Oil companies on the other hand...

    It is about managing the amount of available parking spaces.
