Yes, this is corrrect. The jni allows you to declare "native" methods for Java. This allows you to do stuff like connect to shared memory, process UNIX signals, and do other low-level operations that are platform specific.
So, you do have to port it, but it's there if you really, really need to do something in C that you can't do in Java.
As for normal programmers not using it, that's not true. I use the JNI for integrating java with a large software package that's written in C, and runs on AIX or Linux. I'm a regular programmer. It's really not that difficult, just a little different.
In my case, it's allowed me to write Java add on's to a system that's written in C. This makes the delopment faster, the GUI's prettier, and the interface is the only C code to manage.
I've got a 75lb lab, very friendly. That said, even when my gf comes over, whom she knows, shares a bed with when I'm out of town, and really likes, she barks at.
Shit, she barks at me when I'm in the yard. She sounds very vicious, and if you don't know her and know she's friendly, you won't come near the house.
So, not only will she scare people away that are snooping around, she keeps the Mormons and other missionarys away.
That said, I also keep a loaded 9MM in the drawer beside my bed, in case someone too dumb to be afraid of the dog comes along.
I think everyone should own, and know how to use, a gun.
Just be sure to keep an extra gallon of paint around, in case someone does break in.
So, do you think that they took all the topics that he was weak on, loaded the board with them, and screwed him?
Sounds likely to me. I don't know, however, because I don't watch TV...
So, when I went to ncsu (ncsu.edu), the had the tunnel of free expression (so you could paint whatever you wanted, whenever you wanted), where people could legally paint "graffiti", and it got painted over once a week/month, whatever. Why not provide a productive outlet for prospective artists?
This is stupid. Really, really really stupid. This is why people give me funny looks when I tell them what industry I'm in. Come on people, this is the Star Treak of the new millineum.
As soon as there's a demand, Mc D's or whoever will be selling this, too.
I'd switch, but my truck's almost paid off and I don't want to have to replace it. If our president would give me a $5,000 tax break to switch (instead of my boss a $30,000 tax break for driving an SUV, this is assinine) I'd switch.
Well, you could do what I do, and ferment on top of the dishwasher... The only reason you need to ferment at these temps is for lagers. Make an ale, and you can ferment at 80 degress (F) if you want. I regularly do.
What would be more cost effective is to get a chest freezer, there's room for your fermenters, kegs, CO2 tank, and you've always got beer on tap. Then, no more bottling!
I don't know about you, but when I was in school, the Uni. owned any patents you developed using their facilities/money/name for research or publication.
Well, cam tuners have been around for banjos for awhile. You set 2 stops, and voila! Listen to some Earl Scruggs (Earl's breakdown, Flint Hill Special, Randy Lynn Rag, and more) and you'll hear them used during a song for the effect.
This is sort of like the bridge, and they can also allow you to quickly retune from the Open-G to Open-D tuning.
Bill Keith (http://www.beaconbanjo.com) makes some, and I have a set on my banjo and they're awsome!
http://www.casi-rusco.com Bought by GE while they were porting there enterprise security System to RH 7. They also have several other projects on RedHat...
Right, sorry, it was early, and I hadn't had any coffee yet. I forgot that the only obvious jokes allowed were for the weekly "New Microsoft Security Flaw Found". Since this is an Open Source project, we must all be chaste and serious when referring to it, and no jokes allowed. Moderators, band together and mod the original post back down.
crappy plot. Movies today are better suited for my cat than for me. Better sound effects, lots of lights and wierd looking stuff, but where the hell is a good story? Is the average person who goes to watch a movie so stupid they don't notice that the movie has no plot? Are the "stars" today so popular they can just show up and turn out a blockbuster?
I'll not be going to another major movie until I read reviews of one that actually has a plot, I don't care how cool the effects are, they need to morph in a fucking plot.
"Now the FreeBSD binaries are certified by Sun (which apparently is hard as anything to get done) and they can be distributed directly as a binary. "
So, should it be easier, and then we can have a bunch of shitty JDK's out there. Now, I'm sure someone will mod this as a flame, but I work for a company that does a lot of java development, and if there were not reliable Java JDK's (if they were "easier" to certify), that would really really suck.

Hope yours is not the type with the 9MM, like me...

This really, really sucks. This is not constitutional, and should not be a law. The politicians are very much out of touch.
I don't see why this is not on CNN? Our political system is fucked up, when half of the house of reps vote to violate our "God given" rights.
I'm ashamed.
But perhaps the state is now going too far

Fill in for lack of sig.

What about the big firewall stuff that China uses to restrict access? I guess it doesen't affect email?, or maybe it's government approved?

If you're learning vi and repairing a production box at the same time, somebody fucked up when they hired you.
I'm a 25 year old professional male, secure and single.
I like long walks on the beach, romantic dinners, and dumb april fools jokes. Call me.
OK, so say I'm your rich dude...
12 Ga shotgunshells are $4 for a box of 25, and I'm a pretty good shot. I bet I know who'd run out of money (and get bored) first. Wanna guess?
The Free Software movement has gotten so large and so mainstream
Does that mean, if I go, there'll be chicks?!?
I'm there!!!!!!!!
Er, actally, according to most banjo-l posts, you have 2 things wrong:
1. They're Keith tuners, Bill and Earl had it out for unknown reasons, and Earl does not have his name on them anymore.
2. With a little bit of regular oiling, they will last more than a lifetime (and Bill will fix them gratis if they do need repacking or anything)
You may be thinking of the Schallers, which suck anyway...

I asked mom, who is a good, random sample of your average dumbass user. 1. Microsoft 2. Internet 3. The big blue E 4. Email That's really all I use!

This is awsome, with a name like this how can it be anything other than... er... great, hmmm, what a name.

Underpin it, boys! The lameness filter is lame...

We can combine this with the monthly meeting of the I'll-never-get-laid club, and free up the laser tag warehouse...
