Charity Watch, anyway, gives The Clinton Foundation an A, saying that 88% of donations goes to charity (the other 12% going to salaries, fund-raising, etc.).
Jesus Christ this whole scandal makes no sense. Every public figure and business should have a secure server. Really. But nobody does. If having an unsecure server is a felony, then just about everybody would be in jail, including the NSA,the director of the CIA, and the largest corporation in the world.
Right. Between the iPhone and the iPhone store, Apple makes 94% of the profits in the Smartphone business. Now what they really need to do is become a commodity re-seller to Chinese farm workers.
For all the people talking about how she's tanked the stock...She came in while the stock was at 15 and a half, and today the stock is at 36 and a half. OK, big surprise, she wasn't able to turn the company into the next Google. But the market cap has climbed from $14 Billion to $34 Billion under watch. I don't think you can call her an abject failure. An abject failure would be losing her shareholders value. Like maybe she sold Yahoo's investments that are the core of its modern business, in order to fund one of her relatively minor pet projects that didn't work out.
In case anybody's wondering what a unicorn is (the summary doesn't make it clear), a unicorn is a bisexual person, usually but not always female, who is willing to engage in sexual activities with a couple, without demanding or doing anything that might cause problems or inconvenience to the couple.
You didn't know that? Illegal immigrants working at fast food restaurants earn $28K/year. I see you've posted four times today - maybe you have more productive ways to make use of your time?
Personally I *hated* my galaxy s5, it would hang and crashed all the time and looked crappy. When the s6 came out and T-Mobile had a deal where I could trade in my s5 with no big payment, yeah I jumped at the deal.
And with iPhone, yeah the increase in screen size is a huge advantage.
And I'm a huge fan of Google Cardboard, I'm willing to believe that future phones will be much better for such a purpose.
But yeah, if in the theoretical future upgrades didn't really upgrade, then I guess there wouldn't be much motivation to buy the new one.
This is a great idea with a car. But what's even the use with a cell phone? If you hold on to it for a normal length of time, a cool new cell phone will amortize to maybe a dollar a day. It's multi-purpose, acting as a phone + camera + MP3 player + computer + blah blah blah. I dunnow, why cheap out on something you use all the time that really isn't that expensive?
It formalized a long-standing practice that was already happening. White settlers were already encroaching on Indian land to take its gold. He didn't send Federal troops to protect the Indians, sure.
Jackson wasn't responsible for the way the Cherokees in Georgia had their land ripped off. It happened before his presidency and merely continued. It was part of a large movement of white people displacing Indians when they wanted the land, a movement that would have happened with or without Jackson. The Jackson did adopt a Native American child that he raised as his own.
My wife isn't a computer person and is totally fine using Ubuntu Linux. She thinks it's basically the same as Mac OS, but with a different color scheme.
I'm sorry for the inevitable racist responses this will get, but if end-to-end security is your thing I have my suspicions that you don't want to deal with a company whose founder and CEO's last job was CIO of the Israeli Defense Force.
Good for Keurig/Green Mountain. A quick Googling shows the average North American consumes 139 kg/person/year, so this will be a bit of a drop in the bucket. But every bit does help.
For all the people saying Keurig isn't the best coffee out there: well, no shit. It's sold for convenience. You press a button and coffee comes out - coffee that I would call "passable" rather than "bad." Afterwards there's no cleanup. There's a reason that it's popular, and it isn't mass delusion.
Exactly! Billy Nye is "Power Walker" and "High Fiving White Guy," who then moved on to do a kid's science show. I liked Mr. Wizard, but would have thought it was really weird if Mr. Wizard addressed Congress.
It was a very weak upgrade, but I wouldn't call it "gutted." For real life purposes the new Mac Mini is still faster than what preceded it. It's still a small, quiet, power-sipping, relatively inexpensive computer that runs fine, if you just want to run it for basic purposes. I expect a new version will come out this year. Who knows, but I'd be tempted to hold out.
Mac OS X is nice but not magical. Before running a Hackintosh and all the potential issues, switch to Linux.
What? It's US policy to encourage rich people and educated people to move here. Investing a million dollars in US provides benefits to our economy. This is a wonderful policy. There's no guarantee or even motivation of egalitarianism towards immigrants.
Hate to say it but I think I agree with all the crazy anti-Windows people that pollute this site. No use getting an expensive windows computer that can't play games. Windows is only if you're making a game machine or want to buy one of the $200 laptops.
There are many books that are available for $4 (1 penny, plus $3.99 shipping). However, there are many, many more that are not. Really, the only books that are generally available for that price are bestsellers from at least five years ago. For most books, Kindle prices are in the same ballpark as buying a hard copy.
If you just want to read whatever, you can go to half priced books or a library sale and get old bestsellers at like 10 for a dollar.
About used books from 70 years ago...so what. Sure, I have some vinyl records too. It's kind of fun to have physical copies of things. I guess in the very rare situation where I decide to re-read a book or show off to visitors (there's so many I haven't read), I can buy a physical copy just for that. I buy books to read, not for my trophy case or a future collector's market.
That's history. They've morphed from being a repressive regime that tolerated & protected terrorists (which I guess you think is no big deal, although personally I think that should disqualify one from Google Play) to actually being a terrorist organization.
WTF, you're complaining that they made a car that doesn't cost $17,500? Isn't that just about every car? Do you go to BMW forums and say "well, it looks nice, but really I wish it cost about the same as a Toyota Yaris?
You like technology as a hobby and dick around with building game machines for playing "Starcraft." And yeah, you can hobble something similar to this device together, and it'll work pretty well most of the time, and you don't really need that much technical know-how to use it once you have it all set up. This is a cool device, but not anything revolutionary.
In a business environment, people want something that works easily and well without having some guy from the IT department have to set things up or kludge together a fix, while 10 guys with higher salaries wait around in the office room. It could easily be worth the extra $8,000.
Not really - "And even pure fruit juices that deliver vitamins and nutrients — like freshly squeezed orange juice — also deliver a lot of calories and sugar" makes it clear that all juices are high in sugar. Just, sugar-water-based "fruit drinks" are criticized for having very little/no nutritional value.

I'm sorry, you accidentally quoted Metapedia and expected to be taken seriously.

Sounds like Dutch people will have to go to Germany just to buy a new car...
Googled this one - a Canadian Prog-Rock band from the 70s? What the Fuck?

Holy shit, after two years they plan on charging customers $2 more per month!
