If you are so stupid as to be burned by a phisher, you deserve it. People need to wake up an learn that the internet is not a safe place and never will be.
I've downloaded it at least 10-12 times. I put it on laptops I borrow, other peoples computers, etc just because I don't want to use IE. That's not to say I have said to these people, "Hey, you should use Firefox", because I haven't. They can use whatever they want.
So, who wants to be the first to give us a list of all those wonderful inventions that would have never been invented if it wasn't for the copyright law?
"Why is it that so many small or independent developers give us so much quality software, often without reward, and huge companies like AOL can only spit out this bloated garbage?"
Drives need atmosphere to work. I think it has something to do with the heads. Also, they could not be cooled, but I don't think that is the main issue.
I only see three possibilities: no water in the kernal, not enough water in the kernal, or it leaks out during popping. 1 and 2 could be easily tested after popping some. Am I missing something?
My favorite quote from our ex PR firm: "That is what they said, now I am going to tell you what they meant."
This was in response to a focus group clearly stating they did not like something and the PR people were trying to spin it to positive. I never listened to them again.
Rather than working to make it harder to use a stolen credit card, companies should work at making it easier to find somebody using a stolen credit card. Maybe start requesting that stores associate a purchase with a time and a checkout lane, which could lead to accessing security camera archives once a purchase is claimed fraudulent by the account holder. I am sure there are more possibilities.
Oh, man, I'd love to see a story about that posted on Slashdot. The comments. The comments! It would be hours of fun.
I'd rather those 'financial tools' be working on fingerprint or some other biometric authentication. I'd hate to have to talk to my card everytime I use it. Oh well, I use cash mostly anyway.
Who would have thought Star Trek would outlive Star Wars?
...after an hour, they need to post another one.
Spam filters not perfect, more to come...

1. You can post on slashdot when ever the topic comes up.
2. You can think of yourself as extra cool.
3. It'll get you laid.
I stopped reading at 'Debian.'
Do you have to compile this thing first?
Open Source solution = Can be a good solution.
Closed Source Solution = Cannot be a good solution.
You have the "I don't own a TV so you shouldn't either" or "I am a vegan and you should be too" type of attitude this guy is talking about.
His 50 character password is probably something like: &%)(#)_@)__!@I#)())@(LNSO#(*X-=0-=#(*)(*#)S9x900e8 0#**(^^*#+@
Yeah, that guy is paranoid.

The fantasy world where Richard Stallman lives?

PHBs.
I have been filtering AOL along with many other free email hosts, straight to the trash. If I know someone with an email there, I whitelist them.
Will it survive after I kick the shit out my computer and then throw it off a cliff?
why do disks not work in a vacuum

Will they pass the cost onto the consumer?

I don't know how this qualifies as a troll.
Kenneth Lay stole US$7 trillion from Enron and he gets off scott free
1. It was not $7 trillion.
2. He has yet to go to trial but will.
3. Shut up.
And I don't think this is draconian at all.
"Listen up or I'll take away your ipod"
How about, "I'll give you an iPod if you pass me."
It's easier to zone out with a little music.
