The stegosaurus had much more brain-room than we did. Yet, it was as dumb as a rock. Intelligence is related closer to brain/body proportion than "absolute" brain size. Granted, these mice may not be talking or solving differential equations -- but we can't say anything about consciousness.
I guess the major piece of advice is to go into a major you're interested in. However, though you might not enjoya class's topic, you shouldn't ignore it completely. Your undergrad GPA might not be important in the long run (10-20 years), but it's crucial for landing initial interviews in companies which could accelerate your career.
Personally -- I prefer fluxbox's minimalism. It doesn't really matter what the distros ship with because at least you're given an option on going with a lean option or a feature-ridden one.
True -- but my Palm wouldn't really mind anyway, since it has a built-in battery. Sure -- the current would jump up and down, but the internal device battery is being charged when the sun is up anyway.
Not a bad idea for a jacket -- though I do have a gripe with the battery pack. Though small (sized like a cardpack) -- it will still probably make the jacket feel offweight. I wouldn't mind just using the solarpanels by themselves to charge up my devices (since most of them already have built-in batteries).
The US government blames violence and aggressive behavior on the Koran, citing that it causes individuals to commit acts of terrorism. Congress is looking into a Bill to prevent the book from getting into the hands of minors, requiring strict enforcement over its sale as well as warning labels for parents.
The RIAA should maybe adopt a business model (helping slow transition into a pay/month service) where they sell insurance for getting sued.
Given the current sue rate (100/day or so) and assuming an average settlement cost of $1000 dollars (and a total number of P2P users at 60 million). You'd end up w/ the probability of getting sued/day at 1.66 * 10^-4% (assuming the 60 million stays constant) with an expected loss of $0.0016666/day
Over a year, that's $0.6083333 (fair premium). OK -- not very much.
Now, eventually, they'll sue more and more people (and the 60 million would decrease [fear or otherwise] -- not including those who bought the insurance) leading to an increase in premiums -- until they have a pay/month service for music around 19-20 dollars -- like internet access).
I mean, if sharing slowed to 5,000,000 uninsured people, and they upped the sue-rate to 4000 people, that would be 4k/5000k * $1000 * 365/12 =
$24.333/month (fair premium) + some premium loading.
Actually -- I would even suggest banner ads. Though banner ads have been proven to be ineffective, alot of people might actually click on one that talks about their IT rights.
It could cause a lot of problems to those who spammers masquerade as -- since most spammers don't use their real emails. We could end up with innocent individuals with bounty charges because the spammer forged their emails.
Personally, I'm a firm believer that experience is more important than education in practice. I seriously don't think that people actually memorize and use the formulas that they learn in a computer math course.
The education that you get from college is more about teaching you to get into a programming mindset. I don't see why anyone can't learn that from experience.
Also, the 16 year old might just be smarter than you.
Everyone knows that any finite path can be traversed by an infinite amount of monkeys driving an infinite amount of cars (with infinite gas) over an infinite amount of time.
Unfortunately, you won't really be able to bill your ex-boss for work you did in the past (Past consideration -- anything your boss gives you now is probably considered a "gift"). However, if this happens next time, anything goes.
Any devs volunteered to swim the Pacific over this?

The main reason why kids make up data during labs is because they're making you verify Ohm's LAW over and over again.

Only 8 megs? You'll probably be obsolete in a couple of months.

All I know is, in the month of February, I can suck 25 hours/day of that that 700 hour cd!
We don't see that because the DMCA limit's ISPs of liability.

The only Bob mascot I've ever seen is Microsoft Bob
What i'd really like to see is a catalog of pickup lines in elvish.

I'm sure this encryption-breaking is violating the DMCA somewhere (considering how broad it is)

Its pretty sad, but you can probably get half those terms in penis enhancement spam.
Sen. Hatch was caught smoking too much crack.

This is pretty cool. However, my tab-delimited OS is much better.

Wow, I guess Slashdot decided to put up an April Fool's post early.
Or they could just put it on Kazaa. Less chance of records being lost if its on a lot of computers.
