Okay just so everyone is clear, we've had the answer for years, its in the bible right here in Genesis 1:20. And God said, "Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the expanse of the sky." He said *birds* not eggs... problem solved!!!
Of course the book says bats were fowls... oh, and I'm an atheist... hum... guess the point goes to the egg!
Without trying to pull a "my dad is bigger then your dad" sort of game here, I cant help but say what I've understood and read - that if intellect and wisdom is the attribute (D&D anyone!?) and having both high values - many of the most intelligent and wise folks we think about had lives less absolute then a yes / no on religion.
From the history I read many debate it inside and outside themselves early their lives and then that last minute rally most humans have when they start to debate their own passing away.
That being said - and risking the "biggen then" situation - Many were not religious, and I'd say the mention of Einstein is an excellent example. Sure he had many letters like his famous one about God to children, but I highly doubt he was "religious" in the classic christian sense. I'd say he had some very large doubts... Let along people like Jefferson, Franklin (excluding Paine ). Maybe better said is their is a huge seperation between those who believe in a set of papers and those who believe in "something".
But the real debate should'nt be in WHO is religious or not religious as much as maybe - "how would they see the teaching of evolution and creationism" in school (or on/.)?
THAT, I'm guessing, is what many of those - we all find celebrated as "intelligent" would be more in agreement with each other about.

I cant believe this didnt get a bigger "funny" score... come on Especially given the limited computers available at the time of creation.
O6 was great for linux I thought - had no problems installing and it had the few features I am addicted too. Mouse Guestures, picture on/cache/off and crash protection. But I hated the skinning process and I hated not being able to make the top bar - smaller. Now its a mirror on my work box (xp) and at home (debian). All I can say is this - I just bought the double OS upgrade... "who's coming with me?"
Wow. Such level headedness in/. after the "jump from linux" article? You did a great job of putting the points out of course. I couldnt've put it better being a linux "pusher" while working for the enemy (over 100,000 and all we DO is microsoft servers).
If we cant get the FIRST impression good to the future tech & management teams, then we're not going to have the door opened when we come knocking to sell linux. They'll be busy and they'll remember.
Playing media shouldnt be so hard. I love codeweavers crutch and I love openoffice, but where is the spellcheck? Heck we had excellent spellchecks in the 80's! Playing media? yea xine is good, but to techie. I cant get my girlfriend to figure it out let alone my mother. If she (a doctor) cant figure it out then *something* is to much for the common person. You know? Why ADD features when you cant get MORE people to use it? Get it easy to use THEN add garbage to it... sure it worked for M$, but guess what? They have the easy part already now... what do we have? Who cares --- no one wants to "waste" the time to figure it out... my two (additional) cents...
Interestingly enough. I'm an annoying person when it comes to diet and food. Yep one of those. While its nice to have another human constructed sugar sub. I'll stick with stevia. Of course there is a HUGE difference between all of brands. If any out there try it I'd say try "now" brand first. It's overall quite a bit better and sweeter. Just remember --- use VERY little. I usually use a tablespoon of sugar for my coffee (yea what can I say?) but for stevia I dip the spoon and shake it off so its just a dusting. Just as sweet:-)
Well if another great product was sold/resold & mish-mashed by the owners more then most it would be Amiga... but the atari never really got a chance with the portable thing --- not 'really', where the amiga had the toaster, vglasses, etc... but atlas --- both "A" machines are gone... must be a curse huh? Thankfully Linux choose the letter "L". Then again Ainux just looks wierd:)
Oh I went to saint Joeseph in texas and trust me my TEACHERS were like this --- I was kicked out of science class for talking about darwin! Of course one of the "brothers" who ran the school was in the newspaper (brownsville,tx for those interested) for molesting and stocking one of the boys in the school --- poetic isnt it? Oh yes there ARE people like that. My ex-girlfriends parents are ALSO like this:)
Not a hoax folks...:)
I cant help but second that. Wow. Interestingly enough a good example of the effect of different security levels in relation to "problems" with terrorist or hijackers would be Israel airport system. Extremely hated by next door i-will-die-to-kill-you sorts for many many years without a 9/11 to their record. Security is a pain in the ass but thats a headache we'll have to have for giving up the illusion of safety for 'real' safety. Just my 2 cents.:)
"whos coming with me" Ok I think like many of us converts I started on RedHat and had a buddy show me Mandrake 7.2 over a year later. WOW! I've been a huge fan of what they've done and I talked the talk and walked the walk of one of those linux guys. Now its time to put up or shutup.
Sure many of the "so what if it goes" or "it was a bad business idea anyways" people out there are right. Sure are. So what? Microsoft doesnt care if you're right --- they'll just be glad that another company that was taking their business away is gone. Strew that! I'll though in $60 here no problem. If nothing else just because I know it'll bite M$ ass that linux users arent just a bunch 15 year olds spouting off and maybe just maybe you dont HAVE to charge $300 for an OS and office package to stay in business... Just my 2 pennies. Mind you I dont use mandrake, but again thats not the point. Mandrake is doing a great job of converting folks over --- thats enough for me:)

Well I heard a while back on SNL, "He killed Wolfman Jack with a trident." ;)
Love those skits

I think this is fairly obvious ...
