The CEO of our company was an early adopter of the Tablet PC (Toshiba) and he's actually very happy with it. However I have noted that he rarely ever uses it in it's tablet mode. He is more oft to use it as a nice mini notebook.
Now while the Toshiba makes a very nice notebook (albeit a weak one with a PIII processor) it is WAYYYY overpriced as a notebook. I have used our CEO as an example to prevent any further purchases. I nice Dell lattitude can be had for much less.
He is most certainly correct about those to subjects. When I was unemployed, I took the time to read Body for Life and I actually put it's teachings to use. I went from 210lbs to 185 and built some great abs and biceps.
Now I'm employed again, weight 205, and can have no more time for weightlifting.
It amazes me that there hasn't been more work for a system that would launch a new vehicle horizontally from an air breathing mothership. I guess Burt Rutan is the only person the get it right since the X-15.
They can have a winged shuttle IMO, just push it up to 80000+ feet with an air breathing jet of some sort first.
The first Hybrid SUV will be here soon. Ford claims 40MPG in the FWD version and 35MPG for the AWD version. IMO, this and the new Prius (beautiful design IMO) will be the first high demand hybrids. The Ford will have nearly 200HP combined from the 4cyl and electric engine combined.

Pet Peeve: I really don't have a peeve and I really don't give a damn if you do. I gave up on making you happy ages ago.
That certainly seems to be what the RIAA's plan is becoming. As information like this gets out to the public, they are just gonna become more irate at the record companies. As noted earlier in Slashdot, it has been shown that the decline in CD sales has ACCELLERATED since RIAA started sueing downloaders and this is despite a DECREASE in downloading. Yes, downloading copywrited material without permission is wrong but the RIAA's attempts to stop it are WAY off base.
As for me, I haven't downloaded illegally for about 2 years now and I haven't bought a NEW CD in that time either. That is the ONLY way the RIAA will stop this nonsense and start persuing other avenues like iTunes, which I will use after it comes to the PC.
Correct, even the X-15s that went into space or set world speed records needed a heat sheild. The X-15s had to painted with a white ablative coating that peeled off as the X-15 went though the extremes of it's flight path.
However the idea of launching a future OSP from high altitude is a sound one. It's the reason Rutan's group is doing it with Spaceship One and White Knight.
How will you feel getting a fine each time you go 1Mph over the speed limit. How about if you go just a little over the stop line at an intersection? How do you feel about the government knowing where you drive and when you are driving? How long until you are taxed for each mile you drive?
There is supposed to be an ASSUMPTION of innocence in how we live our lives. The government is acting as if we are all guilty and just waiting to be caught.
Gateway offers an MP3 player that essentially is $679.95 per GB of storage while Apple's 30GB IPod essentially works out to $16.67 per GB from Apple.com.
Barbara Lee Bleau Ph.D. are excellent books.
I was in a similar situation in that I decided to go back to college at age 32. Being that I was educated in Louisiana (worst in the nation) I never was properly taught many math principles.
I was very fortunate when friend pointed me to these books. Both book start under the assumption that your math understanding is at an elementary level (basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.) It is a truly great teaching guide and workbook which was so successful for me that I passed the math placement test at The Univ. of North Texas and will be taking Pre-Calc this semester.
As for physics, I have seen several great books recommended so far. I'm reading Dr. Hawking's book right now.
One big difference, the nuclear material in this case is not used for the rocket that will propel the spacecraft into orbit. It powers the rocket that pushes the spacecraft out of orbit or to move around target planet. The nuclear material is never used inside the Earth's atmosphere.
17 inches of real estate is fantastic but only 1440x900 resolution is terrible. Why is it that Dell can put a 15.7 inch high resolution screen on their laptops and have the brain to use 64MB of video memory but Toshiba can't? Using 32MB of video memory is the biggest gaffe here IMO.
On the bright side, perhaps this will prompt Dell to put out a 17" notebook.
Actually, unless Lieberman is nominated, I will vote for him again. Every other Democrat is way to far to the left for me. I might not like this policy and some others but GW is a lot better than Howard Dean or Al Sharpton.

All this will serve to do is increase the power base of Unions. More and more workers will find that with Union help, they can negotiate to keep that overtime and employers will find themselves caught with having to negotiate Union contracts when before they wouldn't have to.
As a Republican, I find this meddling in Labor laws to go against Conservative principles in that the Government should never get in the way of a guy making an honest buck. While these laws would not currently affect me (I'm salaried already) they will affect people like my little brother that busts his hump on a daily basis as a welder (as challening a trade as any IMO) to make the cash to keep take care of his family, let his wife be a stay at home Mom, and make a better life for his kids. That is a Conservative Philosophy and Bush is hurting it with this.
Plain and simple, that is what Sen. Hatch has proposed. Share anything on the net and risk having your HDD implode into the abyss. The President and indeed many members of Congress have stated that Hacking (as they misname it) is Terrorism. So essentially the "Honorable" Senator endorses Terrorism.

They've still got a little work to do today but hopefully their boy will have a gentle touchdown. That of course will be a BIG TOUCHDOWN for China :)
Good work boys, best wishes for your future success.
Let's hope this is the swift kick in the ass that NASA badly needs.
I've got Nov 24th marked down. I still haven't decided who to go with yet. Perhaps Verizon. I'm just happy to keep my phone number.

Why would OEMs buy something that would piss off their customers? I can see Sony doing it to their VAIOs but would Dell?
If something like this sells, it just makes custom building of PCs more attractive IMO.

Hmmm, seems like an easy decision to me.

Alan Shepard already did it. He sliced the first drive :)
Laws do nothing to prevent crime. They only provide for punishment after the fact and keep honest people honest.
