    My first reaction to seeing that ad for the first time was, "there's going to be some guy, some place, who's going to think to himself, "Holy shit! I can get movies online for free?! What the hell am I doing here then??""

    My first reaction to seeing that ad was "hey, I downloaded that movie they're playing in the background onto my computer at home.. and it's still on there at this moment." (the movie was Enemy of the State).

    There's one essential difference between file formats and bolt design though. Bolts aren't given extraordinary protection by the DMCA.

    And don't forget that we can't use a pair of pliers on files if we don't have the proper tool.

    In the article it says "rewritable" has a capacities of 32gb and 20gb (single and dual layer). This obviously isn't the same as RW (cd burning), is it? What is this, and why is it more than read only?

    It already has been. It's called regedit. You can find it in the root of your Windows directory.

    Yeah, I wasn't sure whether to install Debian or Gentoo, but then decided on Gentoo so I could maybe learn a little more about what-does-what on my system doing a stage1 install.

    I was actually running Mandrake 9.1 before this and tried to upgrade to Mandrake 9.2 and the installer kept messing up (stalling). I really liked Mandrake's easy install, which was the main reason I decided to upgrade. So after that I got a little fed up and decided to try something new. I've only ever used Redhat 6.2 and Mandrakes 9.0 & 9.1 and soon Gentoo.

    And I have an athlon xp 2400+ so compiling shouldn't take weeks :)
