only if they had included http://dav.sourceforge.net/ it would have made my life easier.:) with dav FS, you can mount a HTTP based WebDAV repository on your system. Very useful for storing files etc....
hyperthreading is like having 2 processor, when you only have 1 physical processor.
So If you want compare a hyperthreading processor vs G5, you have benchmark 1 (single) hyperthreading CPU vs 2 (dual) * G5.
We have to be fair.
i am sure we will have enough advance technology to making video surfing a reality, but what about human brain's capacity to process and digest the information given to us in this mode. we are already facing a Information Overload as it is. Moreover the brain's capacity is becomming smaller, due to in-digestion of information (your brain and stomach work in a similar fashion,to process and retain information), and less time for thinking and comptemplation.
A good book to read about mind and information processing is Steven Pinker's "How Mind Works"
And I for one do not wanna see any pop-up banners in video surfing.:)
I recently looked at Unleashed Guides by Sam Publishing, and I think they seems losing quality. There books about 5 years back were pretty good.
I guess one of the poblem is apps/OSes are getting more and more complicated, and it is just not possible for everything to be covered successfully in 1 volume. Do other poeple think similarly????
it is more likely that all of the ISS time and effort go into/dev/null:)
it is never worth upgrading a microsoft product

it is never worth upgrading a microsoft product. but they force you to do so, by making new apps incompatible with older apps/oses. I still use my orginal PocketPC, and am quite content with it. I am guessing about 80% of the people never actually had a REAL NEED to upgrade from PocketPC
I use SSH/SSL for only non-sensitive communications. for everthing, i go in person. and that is the most sensibl things to do, after hearing all these stories about identity theft.
we are just NOT there yet!:)
I dont think one book can teach how to implement your content management system:)
Implementing a CMS is an art and can not be learned by reading one book. you learn by practice and understanding your user needs. Not by enforcing what the books say on your users.
good thing they didnt try to make it an IDE. it is better if you keep the design modular. otherwise things get messy. Specially in GUI building tool., messy architecture can lead to memory leaks and other issues.

http://forge.novell.com/modules/news/ a SourceForge repository of Open Source stuff for Novell. RSYNC, Apache, bash, gcc etc.....

I guess this is why some advocates of IP do not like like the viral nature of GPL.
BTW not being being caught for evading the law is not same as applying the GPL to peice of source code.
yea only if you beam all the mac fanatics to a different planet. otherwise i dont see any mac fanatic switching to any other OS :)
you can use the classroom as a theater to watch terminator 3. atleast that is what we did, when i was in school :)

i m not justifying any of these, but SCO employees have their right of free speech as well. SCO management can not stop them, nor do they have to.
I wonder how many SCO employees are actually pro-linux, but are afraid to say anything, against their own company......

In that case I will buy a Tivo
for e.g. a google query might look something like this:
"how to fix a flat tire"
I dont need to buy books for this.
you can always use /dev/null for storing all the resumes - bulk or non-bulk ;)

The problem with definitives guides is that, they get outdated very quickly :)
so i wouldn't spend any money on them. instead i would just browse the W3C website or other reference web sites.
didn't all dot-coms targetted the large US companies to con them out of money?
ha ha! Offcourse he would say "haha" whether is SCO or ISO :)
no it is just backward compliance :)
you have to write a case study to do that? isn't that like general knowledge?

oh you should go there now. lots of new development. i recently visited arcosanti (again), and it is still in good shape :)
here is another alternative http://www.arcosanti.org/ Arcosanti designed by the world famous artchitect - Paolo Soleri - actaully exists :)
