I (and at least a few other people) have found SA to be a little unreliable running as a daemon - it often just quits for no reason. You can of course run a cron script to check its running and if not run it again, however many people favour calling the binary for each message which is very resource hungry but more reliable.

Video games cause obesity, so we'll tax them? Give me a break. I can think of a few other things have a much more direct effect on a persons body weight. Like, I dunno, food for example? I think it could be proven that the more food you eat, the more likely you are to be obese. Especially fast food.. why not tax that?

Believe it or not, something similar has recently been proposed in the UK. The BBC has recently reported that it is proposed that fatty foods should be taxed in the UK.

I was wondering recently if taxing things to artificially increase the price actually discourages people from wanting them. Cigarettes for example - I don't smoke and I dont know about the US but in the UK they are expensive however does making something more difficult to get hold of decrease the desire to aquire it or increase it? If cigarettes were free, would kids start to smoke? I believe that increasing the price has the reverse effect - kids want it more; the worst part - how do they get the money? Some will turn to petty crime. People do not stop wanting things because they are expensive, however only honest people will accept they can't afford things and leave it at that.

Don't believe that Animatrix stuff - this is how it really happens...

Everyone knows how addictive MMORPG's are, and the next major thing in gaming will likely be to increase the immersive aspects of it. Next we see some special "totally immersive sens-dep tanks" designed originally for (naturally) pr0n consumption, however they naturally find their way into the gaming community where they become very popular.

Soon.. everyone has one, and, due to an easily missed checkbox on a Microsoft designed acceptance of terms and conditions when installing the new Matrix MMORPG, users find that they actually no longer have the right to quit the game, and without their knowledge, their tank containing their body is shipped to an efficient storage area (which ingeniously uses the body heat of the player to power the gaming servers while decreasing lag due to the closer proximity to the server). Naturally given the pr0n functions of the tanks, many people decide they are better off in the system and due to the technical and biological developments in the real world, are able to breed. Naturally the children grow up knowing only the system and so do not even realise they are trapped in the Gatestrix.

End of the world, human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together mass hysteria.

Fortunately for humanity a small group of Mac geeks refused to play the game citing reasons such as "I ain't buying no PC dude". Led by a black polonecked individual known only as "Jobseus" they fight for freedom.

    This is their story.
