    I think you are a idiot.
    However, being sworn to uphold the constitution and all, I believe it is your RIGHT to say what you said, without fear of censorship.
    And it is my duty to defend you from people who whould infringe upon your right to spout jingoistic drivel, just as it is the formal sworn duty of any past or present member of the armed forces, and the implied duty of any U.S. Citizen.
    Anyone, and I mean anyone who would infringe on the constitutional rights of a U.S. Citizen, is a enemy of the people of the United States.
    and at the risk of being type cast...
    The Constitution will not protect us from foreign terrorists, but if adhered to, will protect us from domestic tyranny. I'd rather have the foreign terrorists, thanks.

    many of the hispanic christians, and non-hispanic christians in areas that have had long exposure to same, are not actually christians, but angel worshippers; quite a few of these don't distinguish between "traditional" angels and the "new" angels.
    call up a professor of comparative religion at your local university, it fascinating.

    A .44 is not really like other handguns.
    Back when I was apparently courting death (introspectively speaking) I used to hunt Boar with one; that, or a .50 is about the only thing that will stop one with one shot that is not a "custom" gun.
    With a bear you would have to hit in a vital spot, most likely. On a human, you would just have to shoot one close to the target and they die from the sonic boom/heart attack.

    Being a card carrying gun nut, this made me consider something.
    If we could get a constitutional amendment clearly protecting Anonymous communication, i would look more kindly on gun control laws.
    I think I would first want a amendment that said the government actually has to PAY ATTENTION to the constitution, though.
    I'm not sure if that was off-topic or not.

    They both suck.
    Gimp is just weird; but Photoshop is obviously the way it is because of LEGACY weirdness; they have taken weird interface design choices from the days when photoshop was just starting and perpetuated them.
    The only reason people think it's intuitive IMO is because it's what they learned first.
    I only use it (PS) when I have to use aftereffects or something on that line; in my book Micrographx Picture Publisher (webtricity 2+ suite) beats them all. but it's also the first image handling software I tried to seriously used...

    To answer you - without trying to convince you - it's because of many little things i've read about the man since it became obvious he was going to be the next prez.
    he's anti 2nd amendment, which is the end of the story in my book; without THAT right, you can't protect the rest of your rights, you can only bitch.
    he's made a fortune in politics, and will apparently usually bend over for whichever lobby pays him the most.
    and, if you read the interviews with his men from vietnam, you won't be impressed with the whole "war hero" thing anymore, either.
    in short, while Bush is Evil, he's not so evil I would vote for Kerry to get him out of office.

    Could be a single issue (2nd amendment) voter, like myself.
    I was going to vote for Dean.
    But I can not conceive of voting for a asshat like Kerry, and Bush is only slightly better - but just too frikkin evil to vote for.
    So, with yet ANOTHER lose-lose situation, and no decent 3rd party candidates to even consider, I sit at home come voting time. or maybe I'll vote for Bill Clinton on write in; got to admire his ability.

    the biggest gun our overlords allows up to have currently is the .50 caliber, and it "only" has a range of about 4 miles.
    for something like this, I imagine you would want a remote controlled attack-blimp, with a homebrew guidance system on it.
    hmm. anyone want to lay odds on when they start illegalizing the things you would need to make such a device?
    That IS why the are illegalizing model rocketry, after all; too easy for geeks like us to build our own SAM's.

    In the military; they are under obligation to provide you with medical/dental while you are under obligation to defend the constitution from it's enemies, foreign & domestic.
    A person who has spent 19 years in the military has nearly reached the 20 year retirement mark; you entered a contract with the government that they will provide you with certain benefits if you spend 20 years in service.
    this has no conflict with libertarian thoughts as far as I know.

    my experience was similar.
    I think you'll find that about half+ of the employers just don't have a clue about military training so attach no real importance to it; for those, you need a civilian cert or two.
    But it really shouldn't be any problem, the civilian tests are comparably simple, and most likely the navy will pay for you to take them.
    Also, a couple of general end of service pointers:
    get a good copy of your medical record NOW.
    during the discharge process, make sure that EVERYTHING is on your DD-214.
    Ask for a notarized copy of your security clearance pages from your service jacket, in addition to your discharge copy.
    Go to the dentist. if they start something prior to discharge, they will complete it at the VA, even if it takes years... and civilian dental insurance is often not included in job insurance packages.
    I would probably suggest the same about general medical; hit the docs NOW with any persisting problems you might be having.

    That is "Quantity", not "Quality".
    I would stack up the fun and play quality of "Against the Giants" and "Temple of Elemental Evil" against anything that came after.
    Not to mention, people seem to have taken the joke that is AD&D 2nd or 3rd or whatever edition seriously; you can't have a real game without 1st edition (I did use some of the 2nd material stuff, but no more than I used Dragon magazine articles).

    Win2k SP2, or SP4 in a pinch; the best OS Microsoft ever came out with (Dos 6.00 with ripped-off stacker was pretty nice though).
    I'm pretty bummed out about the whole thing, actually. WinXP/2003 is utter crap as far as I can tell (And NO, i'm not going to defend my position against WinXP lovers, I had enough of that back in the Amiga/Pro Audio Spectrum days, thanks).
    I just don't think Linux is ready for primetime or I would switch completely.

    It's the .net runtime framework i'm in morbid fear of.
    if it's not on your machine, then you don't have to worry about .net applications running; most of the newer app-layer DRM schemes i've seen are also tied in with it.
    And yes, I do give MCSE's a bad name; I've run slackware since version 1.2 ('93-'94?), and if a biz client is running winXP, I refuse to work on it.
    I resent the "giving pagans a bad name" statement, though.

    The page seems to indicate that the .net runtime might be installed on your machine if you execute the download; can anyone who has done it confirm this for me? I don't want to have to drive a wooden stake through my CPU.
    I'm a MCSE, but I would never purposfully allow .net in my house. it activates all my tin foil hat's little buzzers and lights.

    The fact that he was a developer at infoseek (remember infoseek? the best pre-google search engine until it was embraced and ritually slaughtered by disney, much like cnet did to winfiles.com? but I degress) shows me that it has potential.
