i agree that microsoft can do whatever they wish with their service.
yet i keep reading a common theme here in this thread, "good it'll keep the cheaters off".
i've been investigating modding my xbox this past week, and i have to say, i haven't seen one single "cheat" implimented into any game yet. and i really don't think that's the point! i think i shall still mod my xbox for reasons like:
backing up games giving my xbox ftp functionality patching the dashboard so it will display it in progressive scan playing homebrew games and software like mame, quake2 (port), etc.
you honestly think it just "came" with your pc? unless you bought these from a friend, dell, gateway, all major brands of pcs usually include the cost of windows into their packages. am i missing something here?
we already have problems with disposing alkaline/nimh/nicd batteries. we will be living in a disposable world for a long time...how comforting is it going to be disposing nuclear batteries into the environment?
Halderman reckons he has a solution for them. "Reduce the cost of new CDs; if discs cost only a few dollars each, buying them might be preferable to spending the time and effort to make copies or find them online."
But now with trusted computing, that system won't load any component that is not signed by a trusted party. It's not about you trusting what you run, but about Microsoft choosing who gets the privilege of writing software for the platform. If Microsoft doesn't like you, for whatever reason, they can just refuse the signature that is needed for your software to load.
sounds like an xbox or any other gaming platform. if windows is to move this way, then i shall just have to move to a different operating system...and i shall!
i suppose there is just something about analog that cannot be beat. in a dark ride, you have this feeling that something could just jump out and grab you...and computer monitors just can't do that...
(the Xbox,PS2 and GC all suck horribly when blown up to a 10foot screen.)
i know this was supposed to be humorous, which it is, but i, in fact, own a 10 foot screen in which i display my xbox on. and when you run component out on an xbox, the result is pretty darn clear. since ps2 only supports s-video, i completely agree. (unsure about gamecube)
i don't want to start too much of a commotion, but i'm suprised to see germany doing business with ibm again. i'm sure we've all heard about their working with the nazis.
i'm not anti-ibm, i've always respected their research and innovation, but this kind of news really upsets me.
but red, yellow and green LEDs have been installed on almost every single stoplight here in sunny san diego.
makes sense to me. much less maintenance, brighter, clearer, etc.
the only problem is that i wear red sunglasses and they block all green LED light as if there were none at all. so a lot of lights look burnt out to me!:D

so you say that i lose out on xbox live? we'll figure a way around it
wait just a minute:
I've paid zero for Windows (came with computers)

Staying at home with a DVD and the microwave is lame.
don't take it out on us if you can't cook.
actually, mcdonalds' main business is real estate. read this
maybe it's the fact that the tomb raider series is played out? i lost interest since tomb raider 2.

isn't "$2 billion dollars" redundant?

any different from movies? would the law be the same for both??
i find it humorous that spider-man loves 'mary jane'...maybe all those superpowers are just a mild hallucination. :)
actually, i don't recall a game called "airwolf" for the atari 2600.
i think the game that you are referring to is called "barnstorming". i believe that airwolf was later released for the NES.
