None at all. I live in Memphis, and the only tech jobs we have are support and management. And even then, it's mostly limited to companies that have their HQ's here (Autozone, FedEx).
When you take into account that both the Democratic and Republican parties take huge sums of "soft money" from groups as varying as AARP and Jack Valenti's MPAA, there is very little difference - the politicos do what they get bribed to do, whether it's the passing of the DMCA or propping up Social Security.
As my NWN Dwarf says, "To your weapons!"...Not that a wireless keyboard for a shield and a stun-enabled screwdriver (w/ all the capaciters on my TigerMP board) is really going to hold them off, though.
ISP's Capping games they have on demand is crooked. The games are hosted at the ISP, and thus don't consume any of the ISP's Internet bandwidth (unless you play multiplayer, but even then I seriously doubt it would reach 5gb in a month).

have every Slashdotter buy a can of Spam, take it to MPAA headquarters, and put it in their sewer system. Thus, the MPAA would be forced to wade in their own feces (instead of mailing them to Capital Hill in the form of legal letters). Anyways, just keep their sewer drain jammed until they agree to lobby for the repeal of the DMCA:P
Yeah, it says: Intel is going to stop producing the PXA250 soon, if it hasn't already. Handheld makers must switch to the new chips by March 28. The new chips will cost the same as the current ones.
Which means Sharp won't be making handhelds with the PXA250 pretty soon.
You might find it a good thing to contact some of the developers at the OpenZaurus project - they have experience compiling custom Kernels for the Z, which involves setting it for the 32mb SL-5000D and 64mb SL-5500.
The only market not susceptible to the shift will be gaming and graphics-intensive applications, where the refresh rates of LCDs are not satisfactory yet."
LCD's aren't satisfactory my ass. My Samsung 152T works better in at Tribes 2 and Q3A:Urban Terror better than my Viewsonic PS790 by a longshot. And no, it doesn't ghost. Perhaps because it's one of the pricy ~$400 models.
I agree, though since the SL-C700 has the same amount of onboard RAM and Flash ROM, I'm tempted to sway toward's the IBM PPC-based handheld if it gets produced.

Teach them about Top Level Domains(TLD's) - lets they start typing stuff like this.

Perhaps you're mistaken for Herr Ashcroft? Donald Rumsfeld seems to uppity to not like dancing.
who wants to start a fundraiser for Hillary Rosen and Jack Valenti to move to houses that reside on this fault line? After all, it's their fault.
Along with a heaping mound of nuclear reactors to power all them boxen. :/
Or even worse, they could buy many blimps and bombard 3rd world countries with Britney Spears and N'Sync CD's.
Microsoft could just buy SCO, and thus ... oh wait, Microsoft would never do that....
This Laser Rifle? I got one of these stored away with my Power Armor Mk II.

Well, at least he's not referred to as $last name, $first name
The SL-5500 runs as root, but the newer SL-5600 runs as a normal user.
Memphis TN here. We have Ma Bellsouth for DSL, RR, and a couple local ISP's that are barely alive that do xDSL. I think XO also does xDSL here.

I read the parent post, and for a moment I thought the MS exec was saying, "Fisting is too hard for us. Let's just stop reporting it"

What about Star Trek: Elite Force II? This article puts me in the mood to frag some Borg.
As I recall, Switch was the buzz-cut Blonde in both the Matrix and in real life. I think you were confusing Switch with Epoch (or Apoch, I dunno).
