  1. Limited bandwidth on RoadRunner Blocking Use of Kazaa · · Score: 2, Insightful

I am well aware of this problem. I know, that p2p software consume all bandwidth (even mine) quite efficiently. But still, I run such software on my computer.
But I quess I'm a little bit odd, 'cause this is what I do :
During the daytime, I limit my upload transfer to only 10kbit/s, and download is limited to 20k/s. This leaves a lot bandwidth for all those surfers and game players. And during the nighttime, I limit all transfers to about 50% of total bandwidth (we have 1mbit/s connection divided for all users). Haven't had any complaints yet, so I quess this works well.

I just hope that p2p software developers would make automatic bandwidth controller, which would change limitations according to clock. Would ease my filesharing a lot.

  6. Re:Interesting Timing on Disney Switches To Linux For Animation · · Score: 1

The thing I *cannot* understand is how $150 million can be spent on an animated movie. (Ego?) Those numbers make absolutely no sense. It's no wonder they are losing money. They should be. Studios in Japan consistently put out better and more entertaining animation for probably 20% of that amount or less.

Oh, you've never noticed how fps in anime is about 10 ? How they copy&paste same images over and over again, just moving them around the screen.. When Disney has (on these high budget films) every frame drawn separately, 1000x smoother animation and all that.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge anime fan myself. But I think that Disney's movies are way more better made than 99% of anime.

But the quality of animation doesn't affect the quality of plot, story and all that.. Would be great to see Disney doing a real adults (sorry guys, I don't mean porn) animation.

I'm using only one or two passwords, that I use everywhere where I have to login.

Now the good part is, that both include lower/uppercase letter and numbers. Pure random. So those are almost impossible to crack. Every admin should be glad.

But the problem is, that if one of those sites has an evil admin (ain't they all?), he can then easily use that password on other sites I login. Especially if I use the same login name. There is NO WAY, I could remember different difficult-to-crack passwords for every site where I have to login, without writing them down. Sorry admins, I just don't have photographic memory!

Sometimes I have to learn new difficult password, when I change company, school or something like that. No problem, if I use the password every day, I'll quick remember it by heart. But if I need it few times a week, maybe only few times a month... There just isn't a way to remember things like that without writing them down.

If I was asked what are the top 20 sci-fi movies, I wouldn't care about visio, accuracy or anything like that. First, I'd decide if the movie was sci-fi. If it is, then I think how good it is. It doesn't matter how sci-fi the movie is. Ok, Space Odyssey is a classic. It's got computers and spaceships and everything. But, it's boring as hell. I'll never watch it again! Now why would I list this movie on any top 20 movie list, if I don't like it? In the end, it's a matter of taste. That top20-list included some movies I've never seen, or even heard of, so I really don't think those could be good movies. Propably I'd fall asleep or something watching..
